Valentine's day will be my last day at my old job, because I'm starting a new one a week later, with a more senior position and getting paid 20k+ more.

I’ll start... I’m in a new relationship (about two months). I haven’t been in one in four years, excluding short term fbois. My bad. I didn’t know!

I guess I’m going to let him lead. I feel like that’s gotta be the way. My expectations are kinda high right now and I don’t want to be let down. What is my role? What do? I have so much anxiety around this holiday

There’s a lot to unpack from my long- term ex, the father of my child, never getting me gifts. He used gift giving opportunities as tools to make me feel totally irrelevant. (Ladies, I don’t care who he is, if he does nothing you HAVE to leave him)

I have no game plan. It’s probably going to be me, shrugging off my perpetually single friend who will want to do some Galentine’s day shit like the past 2 years, alone, pretending it doesn’t exist, working on some self-improvement thing, even though in my heart I know it’s only for myself, because I will likely never be valued for the type of person I am, only for what my body can do- be sexy, provide sex, make babies.

Despite vetting, every first date is a grilling session to assess how soon I’ll give up sex instead of getting to know me as a person. The pattern of the last 3 plus years over the course of hundreds of men isn’t going to magically change, just because in 2 weeks we have a love holiday that will come and go like it does every year.

I’m not shitting on this post, I just have an inkling that there are other women working their fucking asses off to be their best selves and they’re still in the same boat as me. You’re not alone.

I’ve got a few dates here and there as Valentine’s Day approaches but I’m not at the point where I’m serious with any of them and Valentine’s Day is really really important to me, so I’ve made plans with a group of friends. It’s my favorite holiday and there will be flowers and chocolates and wine and a fancy dinner. I’m getting my nails done and am considering getting a small Tiffany’s necklace or bracelet to celebrate (also because I got a pay bump. Yay!) . I finally feel like I can allow myself to really enjoy the things I love and treat myself and I will be encouraging my friends to do the same.

My HVM made a reservation today at a high end sea food restaurant. It is so booked up that he could only find a reservation for 7 PM. We are going to be exchanging gifts too. He is getting a hotel room for us so we can drink, and so we don’t have to be quiet for his roommates. Don’t settle for less ladies.

New boyfriend, we've been together (aka ever since he asked for commitment) for 2 months now. I know him for about 4 months and a half.

I'm going to get him 2 button up long sleeved shirts and a jeans jacket and a cute note.

Some people might say it's too much for valentine's but i didn't get him a Christmas gift nor a birthday gift since he had his birthday when we were together for about a week yet he did get me a Christmas gifts and always pays for dinners and occasionally buys me small gifts and he even sent he flowers when i was post-surgery and even had a sneak pic of what i'm getting for valentine's (he spent more money on a valentine's gift than my ex did for my birthday after 2 years of a relationship) so he def deserves it.

I'll be spending it with my parents, I'll take them for a nice meal and do something nice with them as they will be coming to visit me. I have a FWB but I'm working on letting this go pretty soon, we are friendly and he's proven to be a good guy but we are just not compatible long term. So nothing to be expected on a romantic front. I'm looking forward to it being a family event, I might even get my mum some roses and dad some chocolate.

Valentine’s Day will be our fourth date. But he wants to cook for me so I’m getting him a nice, classic apron.

My guy is traveling for work, so I won’t see him. He sent me a really sweet gift (It got here much faster than expected lol) I sent him something smaller so as not to take up too much space in his bag but shipping is not so fast in his direction so I’m just hoping it arrives on time. 🤞

I’ll probably take myself out to eat somewhere, I’d like to dress up a little nicer than usual. Maybe get a haircut and go see a movie or try out some cocktails downtown. I’m pretty new to the area so it’s a good excuse to explore!

He has not said anything yet so it better be him just keeping a surprise. He asked to see me Saturday because LDR and we both work. I’m kinda hoping a mod will help me out on this one. Should I bring it up as if we are doing something for v day? I’m fine if he wants to push the date the next day as long as it something special. I know I can ask but I want it to come from him so I know his intentions l. I’ll update later buttt he’s likely going to say “you didn’t mention it so I though you didn’t want to do anything “ and that’s where I need guidance. Regardless if he doesn’t do anything I’m literally throwing the whole man away. Point blank.
