why is it that when a woman does the bare min , in a relationship or when she says things like" i need time to think about it" or " i think we should just casually date and see how this goes" is when men get whipped and don't back out like women would. if a man said that he wanted something casual with me i would back out. but it seems the opposite with men.

a girl i knew told this guy that she just wanted to casually date and wasn't looking for anything serious. he courted her, bought her flowers,treated her like a queen and put a ring on her finger. when he proposed initially she hesitated and said she needed time to think about it and yet he didn't feel detered he waited for her to make her decision and when she said yes he got her family and his family to celebrate their engagement .

i am confused.
