YUP my fiancé wanted to propose in 2018, and I wasn’t ready. Told him I wanted a house instead. So he saved for a down payment. And we planned to get a house but pandemic happened. I got laid off but got my dream job and after seeing all his support and various other things (him getting into therapy was a big one) I finally told him I was ready for the question. He went out for a custom ring consultation a few weeks later. Turns out he had also been putting aside for a custom heirloom style ring. Proposed a week after the ring was finished.

Point being: he wanted to so he did. And when I wasn’t ready he listened to why I wasn’t and what my standards were and earned my hand.

I’m in the happiest healthiest relationship of my life and we both are always working towards improving ourselves and our relationship. It’s hard work but when you are with someone whose also got values and standards the fruits of your joint labor becomes SO apparent.

Edit: everyone (his friends and family) gave him SO much shit asking why hasn’t he asked and he said “who said she’d say yes?!”

Another edit: also I’d get text from people who were hanging out with him when I wasn’t around “he’s so cute he says he wants to marry you oh my god” and I’d reply “lol yea I know” and I’d get responses “you know?! Why haven’t you said yes?!? How do you know?? He’s talked about it???”

Like some people are so shocked to find out couples discuss marriage and their desires/expectations LOL

Saw this yesterday and PREEAAACH! The comments were so laughable not people getting mad at her because she won’t let down her standards. Also, Pickmeisha’s do more harm to women bc they’re continuing to push these stereotypes and accept less instead of know our worth!

The thing that sucks is that I actually ENJOY doing domestic chores but have to hold myself back because scrotes will take you for granted and totally disrespect you if you’re nice to them lmao. Cleaning is very therapeutic for me but I can’t partake in this de-stressing activity at a scrote’s place bc he’ll take that as a sign that I’m his literal slave!! If you engage in any of the things that men say they want they will truly hate you for it. You can’t win.
