I had a read of that thread. Omg, the amount of entitled disgusting man babies who thought because they earned a ‘lot’ (lol peanuts), their future wife should essentially be a workhouse slave who deserved to be punished because she chose to work in a career she ‘enjoyed’ rather than studying harder to go into a career that paid better.
Never, ever, ever lose your independent source of income. A man will always lord finances over you. What, like it’s so hard to earn money? Pssh. Men overestimating their contributions again as per usual.

Right? Women are out there working too, on top of child-caring, cooking, cleaning, keeping the couple's social circles, etc. and men act like them throwing SOME money (and I know a lot of men who bitch at women for spending "their" money on certain things or certain ways, so they don't even wanna give you the money in good faith) is their most important contribution to the household. Fuck emotional labor, mental labor, physical labor (that is deemed "unmanly").
Women can get their own damn money, even minimum wage is better than having a man-child in the household.

Independent, successful women intimidate men. They know that they bring very little to the table, so if one of their big selling points isn't that their income is higher then what's the appeal of them? That they're addicted to video games and porn? That they're only going to do maybe 30% of the household and childrearing tasks? That you'll never experience an orgasm at their hands?
Very few of them will admit it but they prefer a woman who'll be financially reliant on them because it puts shackles around her ankles. If leaving him means having to go to a woman's shelter then she's much more likely to tolerate his LVM/NVM/abusive bullshit.
I personally believe that a woman shouldn't date until she's in a comfortable place financially, living independently with her own apartment/house and a tidy savings. All the time and energy that dating would suck up should instead be directed towards leveling up until you're so leveled up that it acts as an automatic litmus test against the average LVM.

My ex was like this. He showed his “love” by throwing his money around, spending it on me for trips and gifts and dinners, and then would get pissed at me and accuse me of using him. Um, you INSISTED on doing this, dude.

The men who talk badly about gold diggers are the ones who aren't being used for their money. They don't like gold diggers bc the gold diggers aren't into them. Like I so rarely hear stories about men shoveling out their money to their s/o for her to not care about him at all and leave him for no reason.
