Honestly, the hardest part about leveling up has been the disdain I've received from other women. I've been branded as uptight and bitchy b/c I just don't want to prioritize men and really don't want my friends or roommates to either.

My last roommate had multiple strange men over each week without asking me. Not only was it just annoying to walk into my living room and see a random guy there, but it was also straight up unsafe for both of us. When I simply stopped greeting every strange man she brought into the house, I became the bad guy. She told all of her friends, including some mutual friends that I really liked, that i was "really weird" and "a bitch" to all of the guys she dated for "no reason." Of course, she didn't mention that she was bringing a new man into the house multiple times per week.

I just moved in with a new roommate this month and we get along swimmingly except for the fact that she's really boy crazy. She's currently obsessing over a guy who is IN A RELATIONSHIP and CHEATING ON his girlfriend. After she brought it up the fourth time in a week I told her she was better than that and that she "shouldn't be interested in a guy with a GF, especially not in a guy that cheats on his GF" and changed the subject. Now she and her friend think i'm "judgmental."

At the end of the day, i'm grateful because I don't want women like that in my life long-term, but it does just make it way harder to get along with people because pickmeishas are truly everywhere.

Isn’t this the damn truth. I’ve gone through a massive awakening thanks to breaking up with an abusive ex and then finding this sub.

Something I’ve mentioned when talking to my friends about my experience is that for years, I was one of the women crying “what’s wrong with me” after being hurt and treated like shit over and over by LVM for 2.5 years of dating. And I say you know what? There was something wrong with me. I wasn’t dating with my own self worth in mind. I was allowing people access to me who didn’t deserve it. I was staying after ignoring red flags. That stuff is wrong and that’s on me.

And some of my friends didn’t like that statement - that there was something wrong with me. Pick-me’s HATE when you hold yourself accountable and to a high standard because it makes them feel inferior.

i'm going to write a sappy social media post about what it means to me that I'm buying my dream home with no man's money (no husband, no rich parents). I'm fully expecting some of my pickmeisha friends to feel like I'm slighting them but I don't care. It isn't about them. They are entitled to their choices. I'm just really fuckin proud of myself for doing it on my own.

I got down voted by a ton of pickmeishas on a comment where the girl was saying how she makes 3x more than her boyfriend she's moving in with and wants to pay more than the 50/50 he insisted on because she would be saving more money than him. Apparently me saying "it's not your fault you make more money than him. If he wants to save he should get a better job. You aren't responsible for building his savings" was classist and disgusting. Bad enough they are going 50/50 but this girl actually wants to pay more and apparently has no problem dating a man that makes 3 times less than what she makes. I just don't get it. The whole dating thread was soooo sad. I even read the comment to my boyfriend and his response was "he sounds like a bum"

Pickmeshas will think there’s something wrong with your standards. Saying I don’t want to make the first move, I don’t want to split on dates, I don’t want him talking to any romantic partner of his past... doesn’t register for them.
