Ok I just have to say it. The only women who are flattered by catcalls are pickmeishas who have obviously never (or very rarely) received it. For those of us who get ogled and harassed every day, who have had men try to grope us, who have received rage from men after we’ve tried to ignore their harassment, we know that street harassment is a chronic traumatization. We fear walking down any street and sitting in any train. So if that’s something you want, it means you’re literally that starved of attention and you’ve never experienced what it really feels like for most of us.

I don’t like calling people ugly, but if you’re advocating for the harassment of your fellow sisters, you’re ugly inside and out.

Men don't whistle at you because they think you're desirable, silly pickme. They do it precisely because you aren't, and treating you like shit yields zero risk.

They also whistle more at younger women because they're more easily frightened by this due to inexperience, which provides more of a power trip. The only indication of sexual value is men's willingness to do things for you, not their attention.
