Ah yes, the midst of WW2: an amazingly fun time for everyone involved, especially women. I’m sure the women who were raped by soldiers all over europe and the pacific would feel the same way. Military rapes are so horrifying because we truly do not know the number of them because, like most rapes, they go unreported.
These dumbass pickmeisha’s watched the notebook a few times and think that the 1940’s was the aesthetic of curly hair, a-line dresses, and red nail polish smdh.
Also, I’m pretty sure that this is a TRA/MRA.
[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Right, there are literally uncountable numbers of people born from military rape. There is absolutely no focus on distributing condoms and sexual health, for soldiers and local women near military bases. Men just rape women, or at best, knock up women in consensual relationships or one night stands. Throw in probable racial abuse and fetishism, orientalism (eg, in Asian military bases, the Middle East, etc..)... disgusting.

100 percent. I know no woman who would use that world war 2 example. Also that was around the time the feminist movement was gaining traction. Why would women back then think like that?
[–]atuanFDS Newbie4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Also the “trust me.” That always comes from a liar.
[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeahh, the language is.. weird. IT feels off, I've never heard a woman talk like that. Not that there aren't women who get off on getting catcalled but the rest of it...
[–]BovvsetteFDS Disciple8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Absolutely. Not even the most kinkmeisha woman, that I can think of, enjoys being touched by a stranger while minding her business. Especially painfully on her private parts. In no way is being sexually assaulted without consent is any woman's highlight of the day. A real woman would smell bullshit on that ”fun WW2 story” from a mile away, because she would've actually lived through that, being taken for granted and as a piece of meat to be used for pleasure by random horndogs. It's not a compliment, it's uncomfortable and tense feeling that makes you want to get away to safety as quickly as possible, far from such men.

This is the truth. The only men who have harassed me on the street have been homeless addicts, pimps, and/or drug dealers. It was absolutely not pleasant. I would plan out my routes specifically to avoid certain places.
[–]igotchugirl14 points 5 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I’m sorry to hear that. More privileged men also participate in street harassment, but they do it in more subtle ways like repeatedly trying to talk to you after you’ve given clear signs that you’re not interested, or rubbing up against you when passing by. Still, men who have less to lose are the ones that treat women like cattle. I once had a homeless man throw something at me because I continued listening to my headphones on the train and did not take them off to hear his harassment.
[–]mshourglasssFDS Disciple4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
this was the exact interaction I had with a homeless man:
Me: walking
homeless swamp donkey (HSD): hey there
Me: continues walking, ignoring
HSD: didn’t you hear me nigger? I say hey there. Fucking nigger
Lmao fucking deranged

I was once in Vegas with a pickmeisha I was friends with at the time. Now I was also in a somewhat pick me timeframe myself, but with limits. Like I never would have dreamed of ever taking catcalling seriously. So we were walking into a restaurant and this guy starts babbling nonsense lines at me and catcalling. I keep right on walking as if he didn’t exist. My friend literally stopped me and screamed at me that I was rude to the cat caller and I could find a boyfriend if I wasn’t so rude to guys “talking to me”. Literally in her mind she thought that some guy screaming at me in the parking lot was serious game and that if I knew what was good for me, I’d take them seriously. This was a decade ago and needless to say she’s never had a boyfriend and I got married soon after the vegas trip.

Why are they always like this? Men are castrated, men and women are burnt at the stake... omg. "Perception is reality" indeed
whether it's a man or a pickme, it's so needlessly dramatic!

Men don't whistle at you because they think you're desirable, silly pickme. They do it precisely because you aren't, and treating you like shit yields zero risk.
They also whistle more at younger women because they're more easily frightened by this due to inexperience, which provides more of a power trip. The only indication of sexual value is men's willingness to do things for you, not their attention.

Btw guys, it's the video of Marilyn Monroe on men whistling at her. The comment section is a PICKMEISHA HALL OF SHAME

What was Marilyn's reaction
[–]creamtart_FDS Apprentice39 points40 points41 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She would have liked it the way an addict likes their next rush of dopamine.
It’s not uncommon to develop disordered narcissistic traits when subjected to trauma/abuse or only had dysfunctional behaviour modelled to you growing up.
Essentially the only validation that matters over time is from men. Marilyn was the OG instathot. Girl needed therapy, not dick.

She...didn't mind😔

Poor Marilyn.
[–]SansaDeservedBetterFDS Disciple48 points49 points50 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She was severely abused in her life, so I understand her pickmeisha tendencies.
[–]HhjjuuyFDS Apprentice[🍰] 8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'd reckon that she did mind. Probably an awful lot. She was a very troubled woman and I honestly can't imagine how the way she was treated by men individually and as a class under patriarchy was something she actually liked or didn't mind. Troubled and abused as she was she certainly wasn't stupid and wouldn't have aired her true thoughts and feelings publicly if it would have negatively affected her personal brand.
[–]Hipster-AuroraFDS Newbie4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I once read that she actually called up Jacqueline Kennedy letting her know she wanted to marry John (and Jackie was just a queen and simply told Marilyn basically that she could deal with his problems, then). I know she was troubled but this is precisely why I think it's really bad to idealize her celebrities who do stuff like this to themselves or other women. We shouldn't be romanticizing poor behavior or mental illness, we should encourage people to seek help.
It annoys me that nobody does this to Lindsay Lohan or Miley or whoever; they're seen as jokes and trashy when they're equally unwell imo, but I guess if you're glamorous it's all ok.
[–]creamtart_FDS Apprentice0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don’t think people are really romanticising their problem behaviours, I think these women would’ve been encouraged to seek support a lot (see the amount of times celebs go to rehab etc). The issue is that a lot of their problem behaviours are so deeply entrenched and easily enabled, so they continue doing what they’re used to and don’t care about the consequences. They also stand to profit from their shittiness, as they mostly sell their own stories to tabloids.
It is normal for people to get compassion fatigue from repeatedly trying to help a problematic individual. All people need to be held accountable for their behaviour.
There are lots of people who take ownership of their illnesses and problem behaviours and learn to manage them. However, these people are instead weaponising their problem behaviour, as they are well aware of their issues, but they are actively choosing not to do anything about it.

It's never good men who do this, though. It's always really gross men, guys who are drunk, guys who follow you home, etc. I don't understand the PickMes who are saying it's a compliment, because it isn't.

The other day I was walking downtown and heard someone yell “I want to sniff up in that ass.” I was too scared to look around to see if it was directed at me and it’s always best to not acknowledge but jeez how is that supposed to be a compliment? Do they really think we find this flattering?
[–]Hipster-AuroraFDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
He probably wanted to scare/anger you, honestly. Any reaction is better than no reaction. It's in the same vein as men sending you unwanted nudes.
