I’m 6’1” and it always hammered home how blatantly (honestly) shallow some women would be when they would completely dismiss a buddy of mine. The argument behind images like this isn’t necessarily that they’re trying to dictate to hetero men what their personal preferences should be (though you will obviously get radicals or zealots who absolutely will), but that it is about the ‘feeling’ or self-perception of being beautiful. Being obese like ‘U’ and ‘L’ can absolutely be rectified but outside of that, women have immutable genetically determined physical characteristics they can’t change either.

So to me images like this, if given the benefit of the doubt can ostensibly be seen an acceptance kind of thing to cheer up women who have body shapes that don’t conform to typical hetero men’s preferred type(s). Because they’re encouraged to compete with each other to be the most beautiful self-worth is far more wrapped up in this metric than in men. So it’s just encouraging women to try to psychologically be more comfortable in their own skin. Fair enough, within reason?

Having said that, a version of this image with several weedy, ugly and/or obese men spelling out ‘ALPHA MALES’ on their chests would elicit the same derision

To be fair, women tend to seek men more based on social/economic standing, which we have some control over and can change through our own efforts. Whereas men tend to select partners largely on appearance, which women have less control over, especially as they age.

(Ofc, these are tendencies that occur in aggregate, not laws that dictate every individual case)
