This happened to several friends of mine.

One friend in particular met this woman at his work and they started seeing each other. She had kids (i know, i know - he's an idiot) and her kids loved him. She continued to lead him on for months and made every indication that they were headed towards a relationship, but would always have some excuse as to why she would miss actual date nights.

He finally said "fuck it" and pulled away. She then begged him to go to her kid's birthday party and, as he is a nice guy and didn't want to let the kid down, he attended. Once he was there, she ignored him all night and sent texts to people saying "i can't believe he showed up, why is he here?"

However, he saved the texts of her pleading him to attend and posted it to her social media after he found out what she was doing. As everyone started to turn against her, she then brought up charges of harassment against my friend with their employer. He almost lost his job, but luckily one of managers saw through her bullshit and called her allegation frivolous.
