Feel free to see the only post in my history for a tiny bit of background. It's what led me to reading up on the red pill.

I've read about (but not fully adopted) the red pill thinking. I've been slowly making changes over the past 6 or 7 months but have seen little to no change in my relationship with my wife. That's no an indictment of TRP, but of my general lack of taking it seriously.

I'm 35 today. I have two cool kids (both grown enough to not be a big hassle). I have a really good job where I make really good money and lead a big team that's doing great stuff. I recently relocated us 1,000 miles from the town we hated living in to somewhere we really like... My wife especially loves it here.

I've been in pretty good shape through the past 10 years (running and some weights) and have been lifting more the past month, and am emphasizing that more than running. I take care of my responsibilities around the house, spend time with the family... I'm the leader.

Obviously, I wouldn't be posting here if that was generating the desired result.

My sex life has always been less than I would like. We've gone through phases where it would be 3 to 5 times a month, but never more than that post-marriage. The norm is once or twice a month. I'm sure there are lots of reasons, me being responsible for most of them. In spite of the sex issue, I have always thought she really loves me. That she's very happy with her life.

As I said, today is my birthday. I don't expect a big deal... I'm not a kid. But, my wife of course didn't plan for anything. No present other than a 6-pack of beer (which I haven't been drinking much of lately) and a card. Dinner plans? She didn't try to make those until yesterday and of course the place she wanted to take me didn't have an opening.

None of this is bad. I'll enjoy the beer, and we'll do pizza with the kids tonight. It will be fun. But contrast it to what the former me would have done: thoughtful gift, planned night out (in advance). I would have put in some effort.

I think it's time I see the reality of my situation and dive in.
