This poster went up around my school, with similar ones elsewhere on campus. When I fist saw it, I brushed it off, but I had a particularly boring ochem class this morning, and was thinking about it more. It brought up a few questions.

Firstly, when I go out with my girlfriend, should I expect people to ask her if she is sure she wants to leave with me? What a blow to my self esteem that would be. Second, what about women who assault men using alcohol/drugs? I was drugged in a campus bar once, fortunately I was with friends and it was my last drink before we were planning on leaving anyway. The more I think about this poster, the more questions it raises to me, not just on a men's rights basis, but I posted it here because it raises a lot of questions about rape and beliefs about perpetuation of rape.

Sorry for the potato quality, the poster was too big to fit on my scanner properly, so I had to use my webcam. I will be returning the poster to where I got it from later today when I leave for class again, as it isn't mine, and it was approved by the campus, so taking it down is not something I am allowed to do, strictly speaking.

I got some bad news for the folks who made this poster. Regardless of how drunk she is, her safety is not my responsibility (providing that she is in any actual danger). Its going to take a lot more than a poster to ever convince me otherwise.

This poster doesn't actually seem too bad. Hell, I've stopped guys from taking advantage of girls that were too drunk. As in, would fail the Level of Consciousness test. I've done it for guy friends as well.

Who told her to drink that much in the first place? If you can't handle your drink (regardless of gender) don't drink that much.

If a girl is drunk and has sex with a guy - he raped her. If a guy gets drunk and has sex with a girl - he raped her. So the culprit is: alcohol.
