Because these people are miserable cunts who want to justify changing people for their own benefit. Subs like "incel exit" and the like have the same problem, where most content is just focused on shitting on the people who want to become "better", for ever having been "bad". It's not about improvement for people with problems. It's about vindication for the people who already hate them for who they are.

It basically ends up being the same on subs about suicide and depression, which end up focused on berating people who are suicidal and/or depressed for not being better. People just don't like feeling like they're selfish.

Women moving in to a space for men, taking it over and then turning into something that serves their own interests? That thing that never happens, is happening again.

Women will watch hours of garbage tier television but rage out if their boyfriends or husbands play games.

Well, all the luck in the world to the men who feel they have a legit addiction and want to stop, but we all know 99% of the women there are there because they can't stand their man spending even a little time doing his own thing that isn't serving her.

My ex-wife hated it. It was largely because after getting all my chores done during the week, she would always leave hers to the weekend and she'd see me relaxing while she was doing laundry, etc.

I'm so glad we ended it. I've never felt more free than I do now.

There are two sides to the coin.

I frequent two subs that focus on divorced and single men. Many of them self-report lousing--up their marriages over gaming. By their description, they are in a proper addiction and chose gaming over familial duties (including Dadding). Sorry boys, but this is wrong.

On the other hand? Replace gaming with classic cars, duck hunting, ship-in-a-bottle building, or other pastimes. Far too many women will take umbrage at anything that detracts from "meeeeeeeeeee". Be that time, resources, energy, attention, or other currencies. When I was married, my duties to the family came first and foremost. However, once fulfilled? I'd haul my ass into the garage and try to get that Lambretta or Bimota working. Or I might down some MiGs with a flight sim. I worked my ass off and took care of the family, so I chose to wind down in a manner of my choosing. As OP said, there were a TON of worse things I could have been doing. I was at home , not running them streets, and not bothering anyone.

A lot of times, I see this dynamic when the woman has nothing to do, has no real hobbies or interests of her own, and doesn't find pride in running the home like a warship. These are usually the vapid "vocal-fry and Starbucks" types or the sloth-like " go out in public in yoga pants and uncombed hair" varieties. Men should avoid both.

I left a terrible marriage where I worked 70+ hours a week and gamed 30+ a week.

Now, a year later I might hop on the game 4 hours a week. My new job I work straight 40.

My guess is that these days I have much less of a need to escape life for a while.

It’s a hobby, just like golfing, art, or reading. Gaming addiction does exist; a good friend of mine’s boyfriend deals with it, and it has impacted their relationship— more than anything, his health. But a harmless hobby to unwind when it doesn’t control your life? Leave them alone.

My husband and I game together, and I love watching him do his solo gaming when he wants to. It doesn’t have to be a harmful thing.

Women do a lot more frivolous s*it with their free time than men do, no questions asked. That said, gaming is legit one of the least productive, least attractive hobbies you can have as a guy. Take up a sport, play an instrument, learn a foreign language.
