"Why is there a line on my thingy mommy?" is a question I regret not asking my mother.

Hope this can go here... Im new here, speaking from the context of a circumcised / atheist / male, in his early 20's, born to hippy-turned-kindof-Catholics in the US.

About 5 years ago I started trying to answer this and learned a lot including things about restoration. I feel very sad about my circumcision and wish my parents had decided otherwise. Unfortunately, talking to my parents about it would not change the fact that they authorized the procedure and so I haven't really. Randomly, less than a year ago my mom mentioned it in passing as part of a conversation about abortion and religion. I locked up- I was not ready to have a heart to heart with my mom about my penis (I'm sure there's a 'your mom' joke in there somewhere... :)). All I said was that I was against it and that I wish I hadn't been. I didn't want to divulge my true feelings as to not make her feel guilty, I love my mom too much. She said she had questioned her decision in the past, and that she 'guessed she did it to make me look like my dad and brother.' I have read about many others in the same case and I find it dreadful. I am angry about it. I feel my circumcision has had a strong negative impact on my sexuality and my confidence with girls. I feel damaged. I feel incomplete- like I am missing out on the best part of being a male.

<b>TL;DR - I am, and it makes me feel awful. I have hard time accepting my body and, therefore, I suffer socially because of it
