Gender is observed* at birth though, even from a transgender standpoint. Just in the case of transgender people, it takes many people years to figure it out and start living as their actual gender.

Imagine being the mother that is being told by the doctor "hey so yeah i got the body out but the head stayed in sooooooooooooooo I killed your baby with my ineptitude. Sorry!" and them being allowed to go back to work doing that same thing. How utterly destroyed must that mother be. I hope the parents sued the hell out of her and that hospital.

Devil's Advocate (don't shoot the messenger): in the lady-doctors case, this is a medical malpractice suit/investigation, so withoutA link to the article we have to assume the investigation found no evidence of "wrong doing" in the medical sense (though how TF you screw up a delivery so bad the baby is fucking decapitated I hope I will never know).

The dude-doctor, though, is a question of policy, ideology, and ethics: again, without a link I have to assume the Dr is refusing to acknowledge the concept of trans-gender identity, and that this goes against the policy of the authority that's showing him the door.

Both headlines are fucked up, but we're comparing apples to oranges, and there's not enough info to determine if the gender of the doctor had any impact in either decision.

YMMV, of course.

If the genders were reversed the outcome may well have been the same. It doesn't seem fair but I don't think just because of their genders that this is sexist issue

Accidentally decapitating the newborn is a honest mistake and she isn't the only one to have done it many cases before her... to a layman it sounds impossible/crazy but it happens...not the first case I've heard

The guy on the right is a bigoted transphobe who refused the identity of his patient while working for the government.
