Now- before everyone tells me to stop having conversations with this person, I need to explain-

My sister (yo, it’s her again! Big shocker) has a friend over. We’ll call my sister… Beth… and her friend… how about Mary.

We were talking about some old YouTuber who we used to all watch, and about how she actually did a lot of things that were bad or.. motivated, I guess. No one realized as the audience was mainly kids, and the racist comments or suggestions were very discreet. We mentioned how- now that the fan base has grown up, they are finally getting canceled.

Mary jokingly said (because the topic of racism was brought up) “I’m racist, but only to white people.” I say that that’s just racist, and then they say “No, it’s not. It like saying ‘I hate all men’”

I start grabbing my things to go upstairs, but Mary offered to explain, so I indulged. We get neck deep into this conversation, and we’ve basically ended the conversation with the consensus that while women SAY “I hate all men” they mean something different. That it’s a venting mechanism, not that they hate all men. They mean they hate the men who don’t do anything about the situation, and they hate the men who abuse women.

I made the comment that, if you don’t mean it, you shouldn’t say it so often. Mary seemed to believe that they were perfectly justified in saying it- because of the fact that women have to actively deal with the suppression done by men. The whole time, Beth is basically nodding and agreeing with Mary.

I said, “So tell me; If I was to be abused by women my whole life, I would be allowed to say ‘I hate all women’ right? Cause that’s fair.” They both ignored it for the most part.

TL;DR Women shouldn’t say ‘I hate all men’ but do it anyways as a coping mechanism against people who haven’t done anything wrong. Why?

Can I please have an actual conversation about this? When I was finally starting to make ground, Mary said they felt really uncomfortable having this conversation. I checked with my GF and can confirm- I am not threatening, so they probably didn’t like that I wasn’t taking everything they said as truth… But honestly, I want to just talk to some people about this.

I want to know what the root causes are for modern feminists to say these things- I want to know the roots so I can try to… while not understand, simply try to discuss.

Please and thank you, I appreciate those of you who took time out of their day to read- and potentially respond- to this little rant of mine.

For those of you looking for it, the TL;DR is the fourth paragraph from the bottom

Edit: I’ve been thinking, and thinking, and thinking, and I realize now… I really want to understand this, but you can’t understand what doesn’t follow logic.

For those of you wondering, I HAVE to live with my sister- I’m not an adult- I’m not even 16 quite yet- and can’t just move out.
