The post has hit the frontpage. A woman has made allegations to the police that she was raped, police didn't believe her and charged her with false reporting, gave a plea bargain for a fine of $500 she accepted. Accused later found out to be a serial rapist and evidence the original accuser was indeed raped surfaced.

Beyond the usual accusations that /r/MensRights would have sided with the rapist and hates women, the majority seems to cheer the proposition of MsMagazine that there is no excuse for not believing a woman who reports a rape. No one seems to have read this part:

Police Chief Steve Jensen said that her story changed, her details were inconsistent and that people who knew the victim expressed doubts about her story.

If these claims are true, the initial report had all the looks of a false rape accusation. The police are now apologizing, which would indicate it would be easy for her to have her record cleared of the charge of false reporting, and she could probably even sue for damages. The rapist is in jail pending trial. Does MR think this is a case of miscarriage of justice, or did the system work as intended?
