If feminists would remember the actual definition of feminism, nobody would disagree with them
However, they demand more and more elevated rights and demonize men. That is not the act of equality. “Feminists” want more and men to have less
Really they should be rebranded. Feminazi wraps it up pretty nicely

Not really? You can’t rebrand rights honey
[–]kwainot 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link
It's quite evident that females get more rights and less responsibilities than males in todays society.

Like what
[–]kwainot 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link
Like family law. Given jobs that give them more cash than their job duties. Given less prison time than men for similar crimes etc

I work as an engineer sometimes I work I height in dangerous conditions at night, guess who doesn't go up? Females they tend to be given easier less demanding tasks for same pay.
It's not even about custody it's about access. Females can do what they like with no consequences while the males have to pay for whatever the mum does
It's normally a gender thing as Females just cry at court and say they are being unfairly discriminated as they are Females and get away with it.

Sorry, that was rude of me. I didn’t mean for my question about custody to be invasive, just trying to get a better idea of your experience with child custody and gender so I could understand if your case was an accurate judgement.
Is ok. Its just a good idea of me not to say too much.
I respect that! Sorry for asking.
It seems that I have taken your original post at face value so I respect you too.

Women have equal rights (vote) but not equal responsibility (conscription)..
First wave of feminism established it. So feminism was faulty from its beginning. You guys failed to correct your own movement. Now, why are trying to push the false narrative (that its an equality movement)?
[–]Ok_Stress_4977 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Your movement is pretty problematic as well but I still support it because I believe the intentions are good, but were taken the wrong way.
[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
MRA's haven't made major changes in laws because it doesn't get any taxpayer funding. (Feminism gobbles it up, because they push the false narrative that 'feminism is for men too')
But there some significant achievements by MRAs across the world...
Now, I wont enumerate them, but can you provide an example where MRAs got any law modified in a way that its takes away any right from woman that a man already has?
Draft and voting is in my example above.. In my main comment, I have given more examples.. You can give one to prove that we overshoot the equality narrative, even once.
[–]Ok_Stress_4977 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Or because men made the laws in the first place.
[–]Forgetaboutthelonely 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
We aren't a monolith. And research Indicates that the men in power are more likely to use that power to help women.
[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Feminists hold majority if political power today.
Why they don't go and change it then?
Ok, I understand feminists don't care of mens issues. Oh wait! But they do get the funding for it!
And there is more... Mainstream taxpayer funded feminists groups have actively lobbied for gender biased laws. And opposed proposed gender-neutral laws.
I can give you plenty of evidence to support the last statement.
You statement doesn't hold any water, when feminist influence policy decisions. Even overturn laws that give equal rights to men.
[–]LettuceBeGrateful 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Why does this matter? A very small group of male lawmakers are not the same as the men who suffer under them.
Do you also think it's reasonable for a man who was rejected by several women to blame the female gender?

[–]duhhhh 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link
You judge feminism based on the dictionary definition.
We judge feminism based on the actions of the influential feminist researchers, professors, lobbiests, public policy makers, journalists, authors, politicians, and protesters and the "real feminists" using their work rather than calling out their sexism, bias, bigotry, data manipulation, outright lies, etc.
Try educating the influential feminists about the definition and speaking out against their sexism, and we'd believe you.
[–]Ok_Stress_4977 -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link
I also judge mens rights activists on the members of this group who told me I deserved to have a miscarriage, it was my fault I got assaulted, I should kill myself, and that my boyfriend cheated on me because I’m a whale (which is what we call 97 pounds these days) so I can also narrow down a good group of these people and say I hate mens rights but I don’t. I support mens rights as much as I support my own.
[–]duhhhh 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
OHHHH we should judge feminism based on Twitter, the feminism subreddit, the askfeminists subreddit, etc then? Well then the Nazi comparison just got a lot more accurate.

So after that comment, I looked at your post history. If you really are a woman with official diagnosis for BPD, and recently added an autism diagnosis, and had a recent miscarriage, perhaps you aren't in a great mental state for redditing right now. Picking fights with strangers because they have a different point of view isn't going to make you feel better. Sorry for your loss. Go for a walk. Schedule some extra therapy for a while.

We judge feminists (like you?) who think and claim that #killallmen is just a joke...
We judge feminists (like you?) on reddit who have subs like twoxxchromosomes, FDS, and others that say thinks a lot worse than that about men, but men's subs that supposedly said bad things about feminism are routinely banned, while Reddit says these feminist subs are not breaching Reddit standards...
And here you are complaining in a men's rights sub abought this sub.
We judge feminists (like you?) for your hypocrisy and misandry...
Feminism was and is always a supremacy movement, and feminists will do what ever it takes to keep perpetuating it. This necessitates playing on people's emotions and painting MRA's as evil regardless of the truth. Therefore to succeed MRA's must expose the nature of feminism and give feminism zero moral ground.

“One of the reasons for the failure of feminism to dislodge deeply held perceptions of male and female behaviour was its insistence that women were victims, and men powerful patriarchs, which made a travesty of ordinary people's experience of the mutual interdependence of men and women.”

[–]maxlvb 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Toxic feminism is constantly branding all men by the actions of the few who do wrong. That kind of attitude comes at a cost and is hurting your grandfathers, your fathers, your husbands, your brothers, and - most of all - your sons.
[–]Ok_Stress_4977 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
No because I believe in womens rights
[–]maxlvb2 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
And yet, here you are in r/mensrights complaining about us here?
Why are you doing this? What exactly have your complaints about this sub got to do with women's rights?
You're just showing your toxic feminism, that's all...
You: "Feminism is for men too!"
You: "Not everything needs to be about men, alright? Besides, solving women's issues will solve men's issues."
You: "Then make your own group and stop whining! God, men can be so fragile."
You: "Misogynists! You just want to hate on women! If you really cared about equality you'd be feminists!"
Inside most feminists is a misandrist totalitarian screaming to get out. They don't like having another point of view in the room and they try to squash it by character assassination and name calling.
I agree with mens rights as much as I agree with womens rights, but most of the people in this group are incredibly toxic and just hate women and complain about women doing the same
(again) Inside most feminists like yourself is a misandrist totalitarian screaming to get out. They don't like having another point of view in the room and they try to squash it by character assassination and name calling.
Men need feminism like bicycles need fish.
[–]maxlvb1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
But you dont believe in men's rights.
To all feminists everywhere: You cant say women's rights without saying MEN'S RIGHTS
I do though. I support womens, mens, humans in general, animals, people of Color, all sexuality’s, lots and lots of things to support.
[–]Kindly-Town 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Men's Rights is already insulted a lot outside but we don't ask those people to believe our words. We say, instead of insults, come up with your counter arguments that support your viewpoint which at that moment mods of those subs ban you and remove your replies and commenters mostly start insulting again.
The first sign of losing an argument is when you come up with insults rather than discourse.

Womens rights is feminism babe.
Like Hitler's speech is about German empowerment.

[–]Kindly-Town 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I know his actions but you only care about words so I'm giving you the equivalent scenario.
[–]Ok_Stress_4977 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I do worry quite a bit about the actions of some of the people in this group. The words are the most troubling right now because one of your fellow mens rights activists tells me that me having a miscarriage was something I deserved so I worry for a lot of the women in your lives
[–]Kindly-Town 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
You are applying when to see the words only and when to see the actions subjectively. When it comes to feminism, you want me to believe their words only like I told you to only believe Hitler's speech.
[–]Ok_Stress_4977 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I’m not convinced you’ve ever even spoken to a feminist
[–]Kindly-Town 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]mikesteane 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
women's rights is feminism
Then feminism is not about equality, since then it would be everybody's rights.
Mens rights is not about equality, since then it would be everybody’s rights
[–]Kindly-Town 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's correct. We advocate for rights and institutional policies that men don't have but women have.
Feminism advocates for privileges that men don't have but women should have and men shouldn't have.
Which is what womens rights does.

Feminists have been about female superiority since the beginning. And they've convinced women to be so entitled that women actually believe they are superior now so they think feminism is fine. Until women become less entitled and selfish, marriage rates will decline and men will go their own way. It will be women that suffer more.

I didn’t imply that at all. A comment said “unless women become less selfish and entitled, marriage rates will drop”. I assumed that meant less marriage because women are bitches or something. Here's why I think feminism isn't about women's rights.
I used this to talk about feminism recently withan open minded feminist.
There are multiple reasons for me not supporting feminism. Also I don't presently remember all reasons but I would edit in more reasons when I remember them.
Feminism says they support equality of both genders but rarely highlight men's issues.
Feminism is against wage gap but it has been debunked. (In case you want to know more about how this is debunked you can reply and ask for that.)
Feminism fights against manspreading but we need to spread legs to not crush balls attached in front of groin area. Many people ask how do men sit in bikes while protecting their balls and the answer is simple - we still spread our legs in bikes and balls are in the front of groin area just resting around there.
Whenever there's anything in support of men's rights (like new laws supporting men's rights or men's rights public speech) feminists protest against it, which shows how much they are against free speech. In case you think there is no need for men's rights you can talk to me about that because I have multiple reasons to provide
Conclusion: Feminism feels like it's just a female supremacist movement because of how much they are against men and their rights, and make up issues which don't exist (wage gap, manspreading) to get extra privileges for women. I know there are some people in feminism who support equality but majority of the movement doesn't collectively support equality and movement is defined by what it collectively does.

And, as you dont seem to be aware of or understand what rights are, Men and women have the exact same rights being human rights
No one here wants to take away women's human rights....

After reading these feminist leaders and founders say about men and the family, tell me why you still identify as a feminist...
I'll wait.
Feminism is never coming to help men. We no longer need to play nice. What are they gonna do? Not help us even MORE? So to paraphrase Feminists; no dick, no opinion. Fuck off, Big Sister. Men need Feminism like bicycles need fish.

WTF!
These aren't just some random feminists/women on social media!
If you know anything about feminist 'herstory' you'd know that these quotes are what the Founders and Leaders of feminism say this is what feminism is and what it needs to be..
You still haven't answered my question: Why you identify as a feminist, when they say this is what feminism is and has to be...
The biggest problem with feminism is when you have feminists saying "Those aren't REAL feminists" or "Feminism isn't a monolith" If they aren't 'real' feminists then the 'real' feminists need to do a better job policing these 'false feminists'.
I will always be a feminist because I want my own rights?? I support myself???? I’m vegan, there’s thousands of toxic vegans and I don’t just stop because of that.

Tell me what rights dont you already have?
Tell me who told you that you have to be a feminist to have these rights?

Well that's solely down to you and the choices you alone get to make, and are responsible for any/all the consequences those choices bring... Like being associated with toxic vegans and toxic feminism...
Feminism is an ideology that claims to empower women by continually telling them how weak and vulnerable they are.

This thread is just a waste of time. You need to define what you mean by women's rights. Are you including the right to receive child support from a man tricked into believing he was the father? The right to "affirmative action", special grants, special treatment such as lower sentences in courts? Your question is so poorly worded that it is impossible to answer.
If feminism is the same thing as women's rights, then it is not about equality, which would be about everybody's rights.
As for the term feminazis, it is an accurate description of some calling themselves feminists who talk about such things as the "end of men" or "reducing the male population to 10%".
PS You seem to have had a lot of bad luck in life. I strongly suspect you are doing something wrong. If I am right, you need to make some changes or the same things will keep happening.
[–]Ok_Stress_4977 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I really was doing something wrong when my parents abused me, definitely my fault from the start.
[–]duhhhh 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Not at all. But at some point you need to stop blaming your childhood, grow up, admit you need help to overcome your childhood issues, find the help, and move on rather than taking it out on everyone else and accepting no blame for the things going on in your life today. Most of the people you talk to today didn't abuse you as a child and some of them are paying the price for your bad childhood. You can't change the past. You can practice CBT/DBT skills and then seek out positive experiences and interactions with others today.
I’ve never blamed my childhood actually. I know that’s the source of a lot of things, but I also work with teenagers with mental health issues and behavioural issues so I turned it around pretty well. I also teach DBT so thanks for the suggestion but been there already.

And what do you suspect I’m doing wrong? Getting a college degree? Working a good job? Keeping a healthy relationship? Getting my first apartment? Walking, exercising every day? Have you considered that just sometimes bad things happen?
[–]mikesteane 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No, your general confrontational tone would lead me to predict that your life is one long string of "unfortunate" events, which is what it appears to be.
I do have good things that happen:) it’s not always easy though to focus on the good when there’s all that bad stuff surrounding you too. I am very fortunate for most things, I’ve just had a lot of less fortunate things too.

I am personally not against women's rights..
I am against the narrative that feminism is for gender equality.
This is copy paste of another if my comments
MRA issue is that feminism lobbies for gender-biased anti-men laws, and spreads misandry. Both in real and digital world. So, for men to have equal rights, feminism needs to be eliminated or at least deplatformed from all educational, political and diplomatic spheres (UN women)...
I'll elaborate.
Feminism has only fought for equal rights for 'women'. They have neither fought for equal responsibilities for nor equal rights for men. Example - voting (rights) vs draft (responsibility)
Feminism has actively lobbied for gender-biased laws in almost all countries and have opposed gender-neutral laws, and even got them overturned. Example- They opposed gender-neutral rape laws in Israel (2009) and India (2013).
Feminism doesn't include men in discussion around bodily freedom , bodily integrity (MGM/FGM), sexual violence, domestic violence, and reproductive rights (rights to not revoke paternity for non-bio kids, and protection of men against reproductive coercion including sperm-jacking)
F on M rape and the gender biased rape laws are downplayed and people who raise them are silenced or cancelled. (Or called incels)
Feminists support the status-quo of family courts even though pretty much everybody knows that they are biased. And oppose gender-neutral amendments like 50-50 custody bill.
Lastly feminism perpetuates faulty concepts like patriarchy, toxic masculinity and indoctrinates preteen boys and girls with bigoted views.. Leading to poor academic abd social performance of boys.
There are more, but these sums up most of what I have to say.
Feminism is NOT a gender-equality movement. Something that you have admitted in your title post... But the problem runs much deeper. They engage in anti-male laws, shame and cancel men who oppose their narrative. And indoctrinate preteen boys and girls with a biased narrative, that hasn't even been scientifically tested.
If you still think feminism is good. Go ahead be feminist. But people that oppose feminism, aren't misogynists. We are your political opponent. And in the principle of democracy, if the political majority silences or prevents their opponents from expressing views, its the highest form of offense towards democracy.
Sooner or later, such democracy will fall apart. Be warned!

Communism is supposed to be about equality. I support equality. But I'm still not a communist, and anyone worth one's salt would think the same.
Feminism is more than equal rights. It is an ideology and movement that has come to encompass and include a rather hostile mob, that alienates the men THAT THEY SHOULD BE TRYING TO GARNER SUPPORT FROM. It's beyond me how foolish one must be to think one can bully a group into aiding ones cause. But I digress.
It is blatantly obvious that women have equal rights, if not more so than men, in most western countries. Which doesn't make sense if feminism is the strongest in these countries right? It should be mission accomplished? Again, feminism does not exclusively = equal rights.
And a final food for though. Feminists are allegedly the biggest supporters of the LGBTQ movement and the removal of "labels", including for biological sex. Idc what you want to identify as, not my business, BUT isn't it super ironic that you get so bloody pressed when someone doesn't want to be labelled a feminist? Especially after the toxicity that you must be able to see is prevalent?

We can talk about womens vs mens health. When my boyfriend was 19 he went to a doctor and asked for a vasectomy, he was happy to do it. I went at 20 and asked to have my tubes tied or a hysterectomy to solve my thousands of issues and that same doctor said I was too young and might want kids. The list of inequalities goes on.
[–]the-banana-dude 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (29 children) | Copy Link
You can't even do a vasectomy without the wife's permission in many places, while there is no such demand for a woman.
Also, a vasectomy is reversible, a hysterectomy isn't. And a doctor anecdotally dissuading you from a serious surgery is nothing to do with RIGHTS.
Rights like favouring women in all matters referring to custody and child support, abortion, getting reduced criminal sentences.
And in terms of inequalities its even worse, women get access to grants and funds on account for their gender, cheaper car insurance, a man can get sexually harassed at a club and the bouncer will throw out the man because there is no case, and that is the easiest way to deescelate the situation. Not to mention that "misogynism is everywhere" but "misandry doesn't exist"... how's that for gaslighting an entire gender?
You seem to have decided what you believe because it is what feels good for you, and have no genuine interest in entertaining men's POV, rather you are hoping that we will gobble up yours, or that we will simply prove to you how unsalvageable and misogynistic we are. Either way your beliefs remain intact and nothing is changed in the world.

He was single at the time, or with his ex I can’t remember but regardless the doctor never asked. And it does! It’s 100% my choice if I choose to have a surgery to stop all my issues instead of him throwing pills and needles and monthly ultrasounds at me.

It's like you completely ignore all the points I make and choose to hone in on your own personal experience because at least you can disagree with that.
You are as I said obviously not looking for a healthy discussion. Your frame of mind is limited and selective to your bias.
Another common trait in most discussions I have with "feminists" over the internet, and why I see no point to wasting more time with you.

[–]duhhhh 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (33 children) | Copy Link
We can talk about womens vs mens health. When I was 32 year old father of two and went to the urologist my wifes OBGYN referred me to and asked for a vasectomy, his staff demanded my wife come into the office and sign a permission slip in person for my surgery. My wifes OB offered to tie her tubes during her C-section a year earlier with nothing needed from me at all.
Feminist lobbiests got unnecessarily gendered healthcare coverage in Obamacare.
https://www.healthcare.gov/coverage/birth-control-benefits/
All women's birth control including tubal ligation, female condoms, IUDs, etc are free by federal law. As you can see, vasectomy, male condoms, and any future male pill or vasogel is explicitly not covered.
We opted for the safer, simpler, more reliable, lower cost, lower risk of complications vasectomy. It cost us a $1k deductible, while my wife could have gotten a riskier, more complicated, less reliable, higher cost, higher risk of complications tubal for free. IMO that is discrimination against men and forces reproductive responsibilities onto women in families of lessor means. No one cares about men, but women may be heard on that second point.
https://www.healthcare.gov/coverage/preventive-care-benefits/
Preventive care coverage also has three categories. Adult, women, and children.
Domestic violence screening, STD testing, and smoking cessation programs are free for women, not adults. There are free cancer screenings for women (PAP, mammogram), but none for prostate cancer (PSA).
If states have mandated that insurance plans cover vasectomy or PSA without a copay, you can no longer get a high deductible plan in compliance with both state and federal law in 2021 because vasectomies/PSA cannot be considered free preventive care like tubals/mammogram/PAP.
See:
https://www.apbenefitadvisors.com/2018/03/08/irs-vasectomies-are-not-aca-preventive-care/
https://www.shrm.org/resourcesandtools/hr-topics/benefits/pages/irs-transition-rule-hsas-male-contraception.aspx
The list of inequalities goes on.

It is VERY rare to not need your husbands permission to have tubes tied. They refused to do my mom when my sister was born (csection) because my dad is a truck driver and was away and couldn’t sign permission for her, so they had to open her up again a few weeks later.
[–]duhhhh 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link
It is VERY common to need your wife's permission to have a vasectomy. The anti-feminist approach would be :
1) stop pretending it isn't also a common issue for both men and women
2) address the issue as a bodily autonomy issue for both men and women
3) ungender laws rather than codify sexism
[–]Ok_Stress_4977 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link
I don’t think either should have to consent so don’t even start with the anti feminist shit
[–]duhhhh 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link
Feminists falsely claim it is something that happens to women and not men. Feminists fight for bodily autonomy for women only. Feminists lobbied for the sexism in the Obamacare law. Doing the opposite of feminists and working for truth and equality is anti-feminism.
[–]Ok_Stress_4977 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

[–]duhhhh 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link
Please cite the sexist laws and policies enacted by mens rights activists. Please cite where mens rights activists have blocked reforms to make laws and policies gender neutral. We can to plenty of both for feminists.
Do you think I have the time?
[–]duhhhh2 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I don't think you have evidence. Maybe you could find something obscure if you dig long enough, but admittedly it would probably take a lot of time. We can easily provide a mountain of data that feminist leaders are powerful sexist bigots. THAT is why we are anti-feminist.
Most laws were made by men. It really wouldn’t take long for you to get a quick google search. I have things to do.
[–]duhhhh3 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
MRA men? Feminist men? Conservative men? Woke men? Nah, that doesn't matter. It's men's fault. Just like the abortion restrictions in Alabama. Written by a woman. Twice since it was rejected by men the first time. Passed by elected representatives of pro-life voters in Alabama (majority of which were women). Signed into law by a female governor when it didn't have a veto proof majority. All mens fault because the legislators elected by prolifers (again, majority women) were a majority men, because women run for office a lot less often even if they have equal chances of being elected.
The Alabama abortion laws, and the new Texas ones, are bullshit.
Agreed. Both the laws AND the feminist narrative are a problem.
Most pro-lifers (pretty large group) are women.
Most absolutely no restrictions, 39th week abortions are a womans right to bodily autonomy (pretty small group) are women.
Most first two trimesters is a womans choice and third trimester is for clear medical need only folks are men. But let's blame men for what happened in Alabama and Texas, where the majority of voters are pro-life, a majority of the pro-life voters are women, the Alabama bill and Texas house bill were written by women (Texas senate bill was written by a man), and the Alabama law was signed into law by a woman governor, on men. Hating all men for what the majority of men are against is noble, right?
Men should have nothing to do with womens reproductive laws in the first place
You're pro-life?
No I’m pro choice
In the third trimester?
I think 11 weeks for the pill and 13-14 for surgical
[–]duhhhh1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Men are more likely to be your version of pro-choice than women, so why don't you want men's support? Men are only less pro-choice than women in the third trimester.
Here are the numbers for people who support abortion in most circumstances for recent years. It is pretty equal with the split being only a few percent on either side. (Note: Men are the green line which is usually showing more support.)
https://content.gallup.com/origin/gallupinc/GallupSpaces/Production/Cms/POLL/epzl_ukea0ghgz14q5fsxa.png
Vox did a breakdown by gender by country with similar results -
https://www.vox.com/2019/5/20/18629644/abortion-gender-gap-public-opinion
PEW says in 2019 60% of women and 61% of men say abortion should be legal in most cases. In 2021 after all the man hating about abortion, women were slightly higher (61%) than men (56%). It is always pretty close.
https://www.pewforum.org/fact-sheet/public-opinion-on-abortion/
This is not a new trend.
https://www.lifenews.com/2013/11/04/polling-data-consistently-shows-women-are-pro-life-on-abortion/
I’ve had many many many arguments with men about this too, I don’t associate men with being prolife. I think the whole prolife movement is problematic
I don’t associate men with being prolife. I think the whole prolife movement is problematic.
Ohhh. That is an unusual take from one of our feminist trolls here. Two thirds of us would agree with that.
So why did you say -
if the majority of your "abortions are okay in most circumstances" allies are men?
I don’t believe they should make the decision or have a say in the decision.
Okay. So you believe
1) women should get a choice in most circumstances
2) the majority of those who agree with you shouldn't get a vote out of solidarity with women
3) taking away men's input would result in more restrictions on abortions as soon as a heartbeat is detected which is earlier than many women know they are pregnant and earlier than current technology can detect some serious birth defects, and that's worth it not to let men have input
Have you considered your ideology is blocking progress towards your own goals as well?
Around here we mostly just want financial abortions since women get safe haven laws and some want artificial wombs for pro-life men.
[–]BalloonPilotDude1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Canadians should have nothing to do with enacted laws in a different country and state.
The elections were public and fair and the law was passed with a state constitutional amendment passed by the majority of the electorate.
Residents of the state who disagree, and there are many, were welcome to vote as much as any other.
Keep in mind this isn’t a presidential election so the votes tallied are 1 to 1 and there is no electoral college for constitutional amendments in Alabama.
You want to be unhappy about it? Fine. You don’t like the law. Fine. You don’t live here and don’t get to vote here so you get no say in it.
Believe me, I live in Alabama. We’re not as much a ‘lock’ red state as some seem to believe. People forget fifty years ago we voted solidly Democrat and had for 100 years. Those people are still alive and voting. Some of those politicians are still in office. People talk about this great flip of the parties but I challenge you to find that in history.
If democrat leaners and proponents wanted to block that law they could have. They rallied enough base to elect a democratic senator a few years ago and half of Alabamas residents are women and many men are also proponents of choice as well.
They didn’t rally the troops. Tough for you.
I also don’t believe you would read anything I linked regardless
I would. There's just a high likelihood your source would easily be feminist propaganda easily refuted with published facts, so I'd argue against it. If you do come up with something real, I'll happily learn something new.
Do the research, like I have for everything else
What research? To find there may be some MRAs out there that once opposed equality?
You've researched very little if you think feminism promoted equal rights between the sexes.
Womens history, how our rights have changed, problems with CERTAIN mens rights movements, etc

Their is a difference between feminism and women's rights. Firstly femism can refer to a form of political advocacy. Political advocacy can always have problems no matter the cause. For example feminist advocacy about domestic abuse have historically been accompanied by a fierce opposition to making these laws gender neutral. As such feminist advocacy has often done as much harm as Good.
Secondly feminisism has also become a academic lens through which we can analyse a situation in terms of patriarchy. This assumption of patriarchy is so bad and useless in 99% of the time it leads to horrible analysis of situations. Which then leads to horrible solutions.
I agree though feminazi is a bit far. However we should be able to call a spade a spade
[–]hostergaard 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That is where you are wrong. Feminism and female rights are two very different things. Feminism is about female privilege and stigmatization of men. Sexism and misandry is at its heart. We are against the ideology of hate called feminism, not womens right.
