Recently strayed away from Feminism. Looking for good books on Men's Rights. Any recommendations?

Honestly, read "The war against women" by Marilyn French. It's by no means an MRA book. But it is reasonably written, and it shows how bat-shit insane feminist theory is. Her claim is that when women aren't around... men get together and compete for status based on how many women they've raped.

It gets worse. For someone who believes men are pigs dipped in shit, it's empowering. For someone who believes that men are people, it's shocking just how hateful she is.

If you can find Andrea Dworking at a used bookstore for $2, I'd recommend flipping through it. Don't buy it, it's a waste of money. Read any paragraph at random, and look at the shcizophrenic rantings. They're badly written, inarticulate, delusion, and filled with hate. And she's a leader in the feminist movement.

You can read the other books recommended here to see that men and MRAs aren't evil. You should read a few selected feminist texts to compare the writing styles, level of facts, and reality.

Warren Farrell's books come highly recommended. They read as simple, factual, and sympathetic to men and women.

The evil "mens rights" books care for people. The "good" feminist books are filled with hate and loathing.

I know which side I'd rather be involved with.

Not a book, but this interview with Erin Pizzey. Sort of a brief history of feminism's manipulation of domestic violence support programs for the past 45 years. Feminists are out to dominate society, not to benefit women.

As a writer, I've had to read just about all the important books on men's issues when researching for my own book. I have identified five books that I think are the most powerful and give a deep understanding of the landscape of the war of the sexes - and the order in which to read them. Here they are:

1. The Manipulated Man

Written by Esther Vilar, a feminist, it's a treasure of insight into the ways women manipulate men.

2. The Myth of Male Power

This is the Bible of the Men's Rights movement. More than 20 years old, it is still fresh, with some notions that are quite radical even for today's men's movement - such as the need to limit female sexual power.

3. The Privileged Sex

Once you've read the above two books, you have a pretty good understanding that women are privileged. But when did that come to be? Both Vilar and Farrell focus on the last century. Martin van Creveld, an acclaimed historian, digs into the past couple of millennia to show that women were always privileged.

4. Sex at Dawn

You can't have a sound understanding of men's issues without having a sound understanding of men's sexual issues. This is the most informative book to date about male and female sexuality. It does have a major flaw, considering female libido to be greater than male, (read my critique about it) but it's still invaluable.

5. The Rational Male

Rollo Tomassi is The Red Pill guru. Interacting with women, getting the sex you need as a man, having a satisfying emotional life and protecting yourself from the dangers of relationships (divorce, alimony, cuckolding, children alienation) are all crucial issues in a man's life, and I've found that The Red Pill has quite some tortuously acquired wisdom on them.

Of course, you can check out my own book, The Empress Is Naked: From Female Privilege to Gender Equality and Social Liberation where I distill the best parts from these as well as other books, and also give an overview of the differences in sexual biology which are the roots of female dominance.

Warren Farrell's The Myth of Male Power is as close to a foundational text as the movement has and touches on most of the main issues; it's definitely recommended.

I'd recommend Who Stole Feminism? also by CHS, as well.

Yep, you heard right, this is how intelligent, well-intentioned people, who are genuinely committed to making a difference for men and boys think — they believe that if you, as a man, stand up and say that “men‘s voices need to be heard", people won‘t listen to you, so the best thing to do, as a man, is to keep quiet and not say what you really think.

Other than things listed already there's not too much written on the subject ( to my knowledge ). Personally i'd recommend asking yourself why something like circumcision would be allowed to be practiced in the type of world Feminist describe as our Patriarchy as then going from there

I agree that The Myth of Male Power is basically the MRM bible - read it first. However, my favorite book - by far - is Is There Anything Good About Men?: How Cultures Flourish by Exploiting Men. Also, if you have a young boy I suggest Boys Adrift: The Five Factors Driving the Growing Epidemic of Unmotivated Boys and Underachieving Young Men for it's medical advice.

There is a set of books by Nathenson & Young that are pretty sizable tomes. But if you have some time, I really recommend them. Titles are as follows:

"Spreading Misandry: the teaching of contempt for men in popular culture." "Legalizing Misandry: From public shame to systematic discrimination against men." "Sanctifying Misandry: Goddess ideology and the fall of man."

All three of these books are whoppers. Thicker than my local phone book. But well sourced and compelling reading. Even used copies are pricey. Use your library card, and if necessary, inter library loan.

Dr. Helen Smith's book Men on Strike is a nice place to start. Less academic than the stuff in the sidebar but a very quick read and makes for a nice introduction to the ideas and concepts discussed here.

There's an eye-opening old blog out there where Erin Pizzey writes about her experiences setting up in the UK and then about her tour to the US in the 70s. Multi-part blog entries, wish I could find it.

I know this is neither a book, or from a mra, but I recommend going to youtube amd watch the "erin pizzey interview done by sargon of akkad".

She started the first women's shelter in the world and has an interesting, valuable perspective on feminism.

Honestly, if you just stick to the data, that's all you'll need. As a progressive and a skeptic, feminism and its mainstream narrative ranks somewhere below 9/11 truthers for me in morality and reality.
