This is likely due to the hollywood influence on people's perceptions. If you watch any "romantic" comedy the female lead almost always cheats in some form on her current boyfriend, but it's ok because the new guy is her "true love." Meanwhile, when men are shown to be cheaters on TV/movies they are terrible people.

This is freaking sick. Marriage is a commitment, a lifelong commitment, not just some emotional fling. It's meant to encourage stable families, and when a marriage breaks apart, it hurts the children more than anyone else. So here we have these pictures of smiling, happy women dressed really nice for their photos so they can talk about how they ruined up a marriage because of fee-fees. They weren't neglected or abused. They just wanted some emotions they felt entitled to.

Rant incoming:

The first one really illustrates everything wrong with how we think about marriage today. On the idealistic side, marriage is the union of two imperfect people who promise to make it work for the sake of starting a family and providing a stable environment to raise children in. On the cynical side, it's a way for a woman to be cared for during her child bearing years and a man to have somebody to raise his children and take care of the house while he's at work. Even if it's not how you envisioned it, you made a promise, and it's up to you to keep that promise. After a year or two, you'll learn flaws that person has that they don't even know they have. After a few years, you'll find yourself married to somebody other than who you walked down the aisle with. Doesn't matter. You need to learn to get through that and do the right thing.

Now, it's all about me me me me me me me me. It's all about my happiness. I have to find somebody who makes me happy, and if they stop making me happy, I have to find somebody else. What's even sicker is this pagan idea of a 'soul mate,' the idea (from Greek mythology) that there's one, ideal person out there who will 'complete' you, and if you find that person while you're married to somebody else, it's ok to just divorce that person and leave the lives of your spouse and children in ruins so you can go chase your 'soul mate.'

Spoiler alert: You don't have a soul mate, and whatever problems you had with your previous spouse will resurface within a few years, at which point you can either grow up, apologize to your ex, and try to work things out with who you have now or, more realistically, have a run-in with your 'real' soul mate, who will fail you the way the previous two did. Love is not about feeling 'in love.' True love is a choice, and it's a choice that can only be made when you don't feel especially 'in love.' It's only by sticking it out during those hard times that you can experience mature love, not the chemical infatuation teenagers have. It's for this reason that societies that value marriage require that it take a lot to divorce somebody, because it's driven by commitment, not feelings.

Whether they realize it or not, feminists have thoroughly destroyed marriage.
Step 1: Convince women that they get a raw deal in marriage, since it takes away their freedom. Never point out that it takes away a man's freedom, too, or that this loss of freedom comes with a loving trust that the other person won't use marriage as a bludgeon.
Step 2: Convince everybody that marriage should be based on emotions and your own, personal happiness. If you have a good marriage, it will always be easy, and if you don't have a good marriage, you never will.
Step 3: Using the previous stage, convince people that divorce should be easy so you can get out of an 'unhappy' marriage. When elders point out that marriage can't always be happy and that you're better off sticking through the tough times, call that a patriarchal attitude that keeps women down (see step 1).
Step 4: Referring back to step one, keep changing the terms of marriage in favor of women to make it 'more balanced.' Fight to keep large alimony standard long after the model of man as sole breadwinner is rendered obsolete. Argue that only women can be good caretakers so that men almost never get primary custody, then make sure that men are locked into financially supporting they children until they're adults, whether they get to see them or not, remembering that no-fault divorce means he didn't even necessarily do anything to have this heaped on him. Make marriage followed by divorce a net loss for men and a net gain for women.
Step 5: Wonder allowed why men are so hesitant to get married.

Not satisfied with just stopping marriage? Loosen the definition of sexual assault so much that casual flirting counts and combine it with a court of public opinion (or a court of law where you can) that will convict based solely on an uncorroborated accusation, and men will be terrified to even talk to women for fear that their lives could be over after that.

With all this coming to a head, it's no wonder that so many men have just checked out of society. No need to pursue women, since that will likely screw you over, and no need to pursue success, since you don't have anybody to support.

I just really want to write a response article to some 'Where Have All the Men Gone?' articles that basically says 'you did this to yourself.'

And while we're at it, feminists have also made a lot of women miserable by telling them they can go ahead and go full slut for the duration of their 20s (which is, ultimately, unsatisfying, no matter what gender you are) and still get a high status husband. That's not how it works. You were lied to by feminists. Now stop blaming the businessman with a stable job who would rather find a relatively stable, childless woman to marry than somebody with a bunch of exes and possibly even a couple kids. Rant over.

P.S. Going to pre-marital counseling, and the more I learn about marriage from people who have stable marriages, the more I realize that western civilization right now has the whole thing completely wrong from the ground up.
