Trans* MRAs

Trans man here, this is discussed...not frequently, but on a semi-regular basis. There are at least two trans men I have seen in similar threads when the topic comes up who identify specifically as MRAs and a few trans women (unless I'm just seeing the same two people repeatedly). The general atmosphere and attitude within this forum alone has been welcoming of trans supporters and most people who have commented, with a few strong exceptions, say that they are accepting of trans men as men, or at least as people who have men-specific problems.

There are. This comes up from time to time.
Of course they deserve rights.
Define "real men".
There's no "Intersectionality" nonsense in the MRM. It's not a monolith like feminism. Men's issues are men's issues regardless of whether you were born male or became one later on in life.

As far as I'm concerned (I know I can't speak for all, but I believe I'm in the majority here), trans men are more than welcome. As are trans women, cis women, intersex people, people questioning their gender identity, etc.

Of course they deserve their rights.

I don't like the term "real men" (or its less-seen counterpart "real women") in any instance. By some definitions, they are not male; however, if they consider themselves men, then as far as I'm concerned, they're men.

I would accept them in the movement, and fight misandry where it occurs to trans men as well as cis. I would also advocate for their issues which are transphobic, not misandrist, in nature. However, I would not advocate for trans issues as an MRA. I'm not arrogant enough to claim that LGBT issues are really a subset of misandry, as feminists do for misogyny.

We have transmen here, We have black* people, we have asexuals, we have homosexuals, we have people I haven't even mentioned here. But because I haven't mentioned them, doesn't mean we don't value their existence as men.

How dare you misrepresent the entire MRM like that. We are not feminism, we don't invade LGBT & race spaces with our rhetoric.

*I absolutely hate the word PoC, I actually find it mildly offensive.

Contrary what the deceptive may tell you there are many MRAs who are accepting of transgender people and don't try to dismiss what they have to say.

I'm about as pro-transmen as you can get however, I also am a frequenter of /ainbow and consider myself a rainbow person.

I more than welcome their activity in the MHRA space because all it does is lend even more legitimacy to our cause. The last thing we should be doing as a movement is limiting its membership.
