So I was browsing reddit the other day and in this tifu post the following caught my attention:

They have plenty of options, they are easily discouraged and give up fast. According to a recent PPD post, it's not unrealistic to expect a 99% failure rate doing cold approaches. You can approach a thousand women, only get ten phone numbers and one lay.

And here is how it connects to AWALT. Say you believed in unicorns and instead of using a shotgun approach of quantity over quality, you used a sniper rifle approach where you would find a girl you thought was a unicorn who would be compatible with you sexually, had similar life goals and views, etc. You would then ask her out and.. due to how easy it is for women to get discouraged - she'd most likely refuse. Any further attempts to get with her and you start looking creepy. Trying to befriend her first and then asking her out when she's comfortable - well you're a NiceGuy™ and you're putting niceness coins in and expecting sex to fall out.

In other words, the fact that women are disgusted by men who develop oneitis for them is an argument for AWALT. Because as a man, you can't have what you want, unless what you want is abundant and common. The only way to succeed sexually as a man is to stop caring about each girl in particular and treat them like they're all identical. To succeed, you have to become something a typical woman finds attractive and weed through a hundred of them. You have to completely abandon hope of finding anything specific and be content with a generic run of the mill Jane.
