Fuck, I'm hypergamous. Most people tend to be. I've been irritated at not being able to find a partner I viewed as "quality," I've missed out on opportunities because I did not want to involve myself with women that didn't fit my exact conception of what attractive is. Hypergamy just means wanting the best possible outcome given the variables at play, women just tend to have a better grasp of getting it since they are selectors

You used the word "blame".

This makes hypergamy into something negative and that women should be ashamed of being hypergamous. It's not. It's nature, and without hypergamy, we wouldn't be the species we are today.

It's no more negative that saying men are competitive. That's not a bad thing.

Men pursue, women select. If women didn't select for the best, our species would suck.

You just confirmed women are hypergamous lol and i agree men are hypergamous too BUT to an extent. For women there are factors which trigger her hypergamy...some girls get triggered by social status, money, muscles, height, level of sex etc ..some get triggered by all of them at the same time. It depends at what stage in her life she is and what triggers her tingles the most. I agree it applies to men as well if men could upgrade their gfs and wives to a younger, better version, most of them would.

I don't believe men are hypergamous for these simple reasons

1: Men don't date for the sole reason that a girl is better than him, whether its genetically or financially. Men date a girl because he has a primordial drive to care for someone.

2: Men are the possessive ones. We are the ones who set the stage and invest the most work into relationships, the woman is typically just a benefactor of our success and charm. If men were these horn dog animals we would never work for relationships in the first place. Straight women are far too passive to be responsible for the creation of relationships, a lot of them will even admit this.

Most women are far uglier then they let on already. Stop saying fat ugly girls don't get dates, they do the same thing every other girl does, throw on some heels and makeup and attract the next sucker. Their standards may not be as high but they certainly still do get laid. Some guys like big girls, not because we are horn dogs but because for some odd reason, men actually like all (if not most) women.

Low quality men are affected by female hypergamy more than normal, healthy men. TRP is almost completely comprised of low quality men. Not even men, really...boys learning how to become men. Hence you will hear more about hypergamy around these parts than you will out in the real world.

It's not just about ugly guys, the majority of people fall in the middle of the distribution curve but even if you're an average male, you still struggle to find a partner. Society promises a life of sexual variety through MSM but it's just for an elite of alphas or for betas who spend 90% of their free time trying to get laid. One other thing is that there isn't a real education on the differences between female and male sexuality. we tend to minimize or ignore those differences to keep a semblance of equality in the sexual marketplace, but it's just a fake portrait of what human mating strategies are. If you're French maybe you're familiar with Eric Rohmer or Truffaut: in their films you see the characters endlessly arguing about love and romance all the while overlooking or minimizing the fundamental dynamics that regulate our mating behaviors.

yes, obviously everyone would prefer to have the best possible partner. but when RP talks about female hypergamy, it's more specific than that. women are more attracted to the "best" guy, or at least one of the better guys in whatever group you're talking about.

if you have a social group that is composed entirely of rich, sexy, charismatic men, the women in that group will still tend to compete over the richest, sexiest, most charismatic men in that group. the guy at the bottom of the hierarchy in that group will mostly be ignored by the women in that group, even if he is significantly richer, sexier, and more charismatic than most men in general.

RP also uses female hypergamy in reference to the fact that women tend to insist on men they're with being better than them in certain ways. every woman wants her man to be richer and have a better job than herself, even rich women with very prestigious jobs. all women want men taller than themselves, even women who are very tall. etc.

Everyone wants someone who is attractive because being attractive means you have good genes, and good genes mean surviving is easier. Hypergamy doesn't only mean "ugly or pretty." Hypergamy is everything: looks, personality, ability, etcetera.

Men mostly only want women to be pretty. They don't care about personality or abilities as much as women do. Women want men who will help them survive, and this usually means having good genes AND personality AND abilities. That is why women are hypergamous.

I'm with you on everyone being hypergamous.

Humans are very complex and everyone has flaws and strengths, you're going to need to have someone who is better than you in some way just to make up for the fact you're going to be better than them in other ways . If you're with someone who is not better than you at any of the skills, attributes, knowledge bases and social competencies a human can have then you have married down because they sure as fuck are gonna be worse than you at something.

It's patently ridiculous for dozens of reasons, not the least of which is that most of them admit they're less than 3/10, but 30% of women are obese, so even if their nuts system where looks is all matters was how humans operate (it isn't), their "looks match" would be the same women they claim they don't want. Hence illustrating why most of them are alone.

Hypergamy is not about looks. I keep seeing people say that men are also Hypergamous because they want to be with attractive people. We all want to be with attractive people.

Hypergamy is about social and monetary status compared to yourself. No man I know cares about how much money a woman he is interested in has, or what job she has.
