A lot of people who are happily married/Healthy relationships are not stereotypical attractive.

You’re missing the forest for close examination of the individual trees.

As with all sexually reproducing animal species on the planet, there is more intrasexual commonality of mate choice and mating behaviors in a Homo Sapiens Sapiens than there is difference.

This is not to say that intrasexual difference doesn’t exist, just that there’s a metric shite ton of commonality.

- Women go after markers of success. Men go after markers of youth and fertility.

- Men are more willing to "date down" economically than women are.

- Women are more focused on "relationship feels" and standards, and end relationships more.

- Men compartmentalize emotionally more than women do. She can't wait to talk about what Karen at work did this time over dinner. He chews slowly, pretending to care.

- Women "emote" and want to talk about feelings more than men do. They think they want men to do this too, but if he does, she'll become less biologically attracted to him.

I can do this all day.

But inquiring minds want to know:

What percentage of women prefer LESS confident men?

What percentage of women prefer chronically unemployed, under-educated men?

What percentage of women prefer overweight men?

What percentage of women prefer slovenly, unkempt stinky men?

What percentage of women prefer introverted men with no friends or social contacts?

Ah, so if you take two TWIN brothers, and make one confident, educated, employed, fit, well dressed and socially adept he'll do better with women across the board.

Generalizations are useful.We use generalization in life all of the time.One example of this is when people say men are stronger than women.Is that always the case?No, but 9 times out of 10 it is.This generalization is helpful, because it lets us know that things like sports should be sex segregated.

Should we desegregate the sexes in sports because you might find that one female outlier that can keep up with or even beat most of the males?

We can also look at large cross cultural studies on sex differences in mate preferences like this one,and see that women prefer older men with financial prospects.So based on studies like that and studies like this we can come to the conclusion that increasing your income is a good way to become more attractive to women.Again,not all women care about how much their partner makes,but generally speaking women do care about a man's income.

You can either not generalize and spend your whole life trying to find the small minority of women that don't care about your income,or you can try to increase your income and become more attractive to the vast majority of women.

Broad generalizations do work at the population level. It’s about creating a schema, something that works probabilistically even if not deterministically.

Just because you don't like the implications does not mean that generalizations based on gender are not accurate.

In fact gender is one of the more objectively biological aspects of a person in which generalizations can be easily verified.

ie. We know the exact effect that testosterone has on a person from being able to isolate and dose it. Men naturally have a significant amount more testosterone than women, ergo men are more aggressive, violent, and strong.

Easy generalization backed by science.

Yes people are individuals but there is quite a bit of overlap in the likes and dislikes of most women. It's not like each and every woman has her own definition of what makes a man valuable that is unique and distinct fron any other woman's definition.

It's easier to just lump it all into AWALT than worry about discussing the maybe 15% that actually deviates from the norm.

Men are used to finding trends as part of our vetting process. It’s kind of “fool me once, shame on you... fool me twice, shame on me”.

Most men don’t have the luxury of ignoring/minimizing their gut feelings about women. If we see a trend of women in our lives acting a certain way, mostly dealing with manipulation, we have to show we aren’t going to be surrounded by that type of woman.

Women, on the other hand, have society and other men constantly validating whatever decision they make simply because they have a vagina. I’ve seen enormous, buff dudes apologize for seemingly no reason other than the fact that the woman was angered at some made-up fault.

This will come as a shock to the entire Marketing and advertising world.....

Men\women, just as every company in the world, do not have the luxury or need to advertise for every single individual in the world....because in fact, groups of people do indeed have generalized characteristics of likes, behaviors and triggers.

Men\Women aren't NOT in the dating business of trying to attract every single individual of the opposite gender, people are looking to attract a set of partners that match their idea of hotness.

For instance, if I get the vapors from surfer girls who hang at the beach in skimpy bikinis then it would be STUPID to show up at the beach in a button down shirt with a bowtie, penny loafers and fedora reading a Economics textbook. I would pay attention to the general characteristics evident in the guys who they date, hang out with and fuck.....

Same with a girl going gaga over wealthy CEOs, see how far you get by showing up at a meetup in sweatpants and stained shirt, smoking a blunt and waxing about your homies getting a good run of dope from Mex....

People are NOT as unique as they want to believe or wish....I know that I am not.

This is a low effort post but I'm going to entertain it cause I'm bored. Broad generalizations do not work, but data and the evidence do give a look at what women are attracted to.

I disagree, it may not be true that all women want the same man but there is a certain type of man that women want they just can't get that type of man, so they settle.

So it's a not all post in which you also complain ? I thought the sub have that down, that's really low effort for a post and virtue signaling. You're not doing a service to women there.

The awalt/amalt, regardless of gender mind you, is first and foremost to remind oneself that actions is what is relevant, not words. And telling this kind of thing is the first thing people use as resistance. Plus, anyone can say that, it doesn't cost anything, so it has about zero value.

You don't even have to be aware of something to react to it. Thus, with the knowledge of that, you go out in the real world and judge on a case per case basis for the variability, but also have this reminder that will avoid you basic mistakes.

All in all, I think that's a good way to avoid basic mistakes when you have trouble establishing proper boundaries and don't have experience of what works yet/is in the process of unlearning the bs society have taught you. A good slap in the face sometimes is nice.

Women are not all monolithic one dimensional creatures who thinks all the same.

We don't care, we judge based on what they do and that' s up to every individual but turns out humans tend to follow patterns and react the same way to certain stimulus, stats are clear too.

RP does not individualize every women within the archetype but teaches men what to expect based on field observation and act up accordingly, so far we're doing great.

This is flawed because , you are only looking at a generalization for a specific feature or part, not looking at what a women is or what she wants * as a whole *.

There are non materialistic women out there who lives a very minimalist lifestyle and don’t even shave but for some reason some men don’t think these women exists

Okay, lets take this example. Yes, such women do exist. However, even though this woman is not high maintenance, she could still want a man who is rich, or muscular, or tall, or good looking. Being an exception in one category says nothing for the others.

The point is all relationships have conditions, and those conditions align under a specific set of desires in most cases for both genders.
