Yeah, kinda true. I don't think people actually want the outcasts to get better. They just want them to bend over and take it. They serve as a sourse of entertainment and a boost of confidence for those who are not the outcast.

Honestly most incels didn't start off as bad guys or misogynists. Most were the opposite of trouble-makers, jerks and bullies, usually they were just well-mannered, respectful, chill kids who thought that if they followed what their parents, teachers and society asked of them they could live a somewhat normal, peaceful life, have friends, get married etc. If you tried to do right for years only to have your peers socially exile you to the dark corners of an incel chatroom you'd be pissed too. Yeah they're repulsive, scumbags but what do you expect? Murderers and criminals get more sympathy.

If you tried to do right for years and you don't get the results you want, you did it wrong.
So instead of playing the victimcard towards society and/or women, go make changes so that you are happy with yourself and get the results you want.

Delusion. I've noticed many broke, unsuccessful, ugly, people with no friends who are some of the most kind, upstanding and good individuals you'll ever meet. I also know many rich, popular, high status folks who are selfish, self absorbed and conceited narcissists. You want me to believe that the polite, good natured albeit awkward kid did it wrong but the selfish, attractive assholes did everything did it right? The truth is it's easier to spew nonsense like this than to admit that most people desire other more superficial attributes (status, appearance, looks) over morality. It's only an issue when incels say it.
go make changes so that you are happy with yourself and get the results you want.
Yeah most go about that way. One of the biggest "incel" movements ever was TRP, many also frequented PUA forums, MGTOW or Looksmaxing.com. Even TBP encourages improvement through cosmetic surgery. Most of these however get shutdown by feminists who speak their own sexist monologue about men on a mainstream level. Anyone who says these guys haven't made genuine efforts is either dishonest, confused or both.
[–]moviecooknl-5 points-4 points-3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
For me the incel movement is all about playing a victim by not taking control of the things they can take control of and not taking responsability for their own actions nor accepting the consequences of their own actions.
The fact is: while control is an illustion and not everything is your fault; you're still solely responsible for your own attraction (which does include your status, your appereance, your looks, your body language, your masculine qualities, your ability to flirt, etc), your own identity (emotions, values, boundaries, morals, etc) and the consequences of your own actions (or lack of actions).
It's okay to be selfish some time in accordance to your own values, your own morals and your own boundaries by stating them in a healthy way and enforcing them no matter the consequences.
It's called being a fucking adult.

For me the incel movement is all about playing a victim
Name me one "incel" movement that doesn't make efforts encouraging men to self improve or better themselves. Like I mentioned earlier, self improvement and becoming a HVM was the whole point of the largest incel platforms like The Red Pill, PUA, MGTOW. That was their end goal, the purpose of their movement not "Destroy Women !!1!". The only gendered movements concerned with playing a victim are the feminists ones propped up by society. Take FDS for example (which is still up and running), no where in their mantra do they encourage women to hit the gym, dress better, approach more etc. It's just a bunch of women blaming men for everything and doing nothing about it but incels are the ones who got it wrong?
The fact is: while control is an illustion and not everything is your fault; you're still solely responsible for your own attraction
This sounds like something found on the sidebar of a TRP Lol.
Yeah most incels are just that to the tee. They usually consist of law abiding, well educated or productive young men. You'll find more incels in a University STEM lecture than a prison, courtroom or halfway house, yet they're still more likely to die alone than the guys in said areas.
[–]moviecooknl-2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Even though TRP, MRP, PUA, MGTOW, MRM, Incel, etc are part of the manosphere (and not part of the "incel" movement); there's a lot of fundumental differences in approach and/or mentality when it comes to masculinity, dating, women and sex, not to mention friction between these groups and within the same groups considering their offshoots as well.
My thoughts are if you want to become a HVM in this current day and age; you need to adapt and own your shit without losing your masculin identity, (core) values, boundaries and morals.
Incels - again, from my perspective - simply don't want to adapt and believe that regular efforts and that they're a guy makes them entitled to women, dating, sex, etc even though they won't make any efforts when it comes to improving their own attraction for <insert whatever reason here> and/or they're the victim of <insert whatever pro-women reason here>.
FDS in that aspect is toxic from my point of view because their behaviour goes fully against my values. Women who would follow the FDS strategy would never get through my screening to begin with.
This sounds like something found on the sideline of a TRP Lol.
It's a practical fact based upon experience; the only thing you can control is yourself, your life is your own responsability and it's for you to take action on becoming attractive and/or improving your attractive traits (both physical and personality wise).
No matter how you look at it: being responsible (for yourself) means you need to handle your own shit no matter if it's your own doing or because of external situations and no matter the consequences.
Being law abiding and/or productive young members of society is a regular effort that goes for all (adult) people; it doesn't make you special, makes you attractive nor it gives you the right of having special privileges towards dating or bedding women.

[–]moviecooknl0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree. Live's shit sometimes.
However if you do action A and expect result A while you always get B and you're not happy about it, how to get result A is still you're own thing to handle.
And to take responsibility in case that happens and how you're going to handle it (and its consequences), that can make a huge difference.

If you're a woman; yes.
[–]moviecooknl0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
No. While you can't control external circumstances and/or all situations; you can take control of yourself, your actions, your problems, your needs, your wants, your results, your boundaries, your identity, your values, etc and all of this has consequences.
Don't like the results of your own actions (or lack of) and its consequences? It's up to you to take responsability and make the change so that the results (and its consequences) will be in your favour.
This goes for both women and men and it's called being an adult.
[–]aethercae3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
you're delusional. incels, as in ugly people, short people, immigrants or those having mental problems are extremely unprivileged and saying it's all their fault and responsibility is ridiculous. will you say the same about idk black person from the hood, who can't get a job due to prejudices, despite truly trying and wanting to work and keep straight record? that if he has "tried to do right for years and did't get the results he wanted, he did it wrong"? fucking inhumane, delusional neoliberal bullshit.
studies show that ugly and short people make less money than tall and attractive, stay longer on lower positions and are less likely to be promoted. ugly people get worse grades in schools and get harsher sentences in courts. most CEOs are tall men. I could go on and on, but point is clear - being unattractive is a curse that goes further than just having trouble with relationships
[–]moviecooknl2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
The American Way of Life (tm) is not the standard for every person on this planet when it comes to prejudices, judicial system, healthcare and/or education options for people who might be (extremely) unpriviliged; if you want to blaim someone than make politicians and goverment responsible and guess what, you have some power to do that by voting (granted, change will not be instantly and might take years and/or generations).
Being attractive mainly consists of two parts: physical traits and personality traits and both are things you can take control of and are your responsability to own.
Granted, when you're short and/or fugly is not something you can do much about. However I don't believe that 80%-90% of all guys fall in this category and that being short and/or fugly is a minority under men.

Ugly Incels, Manlets and those with mental issues are at a disadvantage when compared to your average healthy person.
However there are things that are within their control, to boost their desirability.
Lets use your example of the black person from the hood.
If said black person can't get a job with a straight record...after trying for years? yeah he's doing something wrong.
Lets say he's looking for a job in the hood, can their be prejudices... sure. but from everyone?
If he's being turned away from black business and jobs.... with a clean record and he's been applying for years you can't blame the employers for not hiring him, clearly he needs to change his approach or there is a standard that he is not meeting, that every job requires. This takes self examination
Lets say he's applying in wealthy areas. Lets say they are being prejudiced against him simply because of race. He's been applying for years, At what point will he realize that they are being prejudiced against him and he should apply else where. Consistently applying to place that is prejudiced against you would be doing it wrong.
Final point:
Attractive people are treated as innocent until proven guilty; Ugly people are treated as Guilty until proven Innocent.
Both are victims to the Halo Effect.
[–]z7xfla5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
This. Some people like to say singling someone out like that will "toughen them up" but really all it does is give them an even bigger chip on their shoulder. I've seen this happen with multiple cases. Once anybody receives an overly negative stigma beyond a certain point within a group, the most ideal course of action is usually to either take a break from that group (and return only after an honest reflection over what they as an individual actually did wrong versus what the rest of the group actually did wrong) or find a new one altogether. Salvaging a reputation that has fallen past that point is a difficult task; not impossible, but generally not worth the effort when you can also start off on a clean slate with new people.
[–]moviecooknl0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Last time I checked you alone are solely responsible for the people that you want part of your social circle. If you have different values and morals compared to your social circle, you can either state your boundaries in a healthy way and/or find other people who do respect and accept your values, morals and/or boundaries.
However if you "retaliate" in a bad way by stating your boundary in an unhealthy and childish manner, you'll experience negative consequences.
The only person you can blaim for the consequences of your own actions is yourself.
[–]z7xfla1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You definitely have a much greater degree of control regarding your social circles after becoming an adult and going out into the world. At the same time, when it comes to establishing boundaries within your social circle over different values and morals, I would say each scenario should be evaluated separately if we're talking about who's responsible for what. There are cases where people don't state their boundaries in a healthy manner and other cases where they do. If they do, and the group still refuses to respect that, usually the best thing to do is find a new group (as both of us suggested). However, while it's true that it's the individual's choice to take part in and leave the group, the reason they're choosing to leave the group is because the group refused to listen to a healthy statement of their boundaries, so I wouldn't say other people in the group are blameless in this case.
I've calmy expressed the occasional "You can go fuck off. Leave" or "Get the fuck out of my house" towards individuals (while not having any contact with them afterwards) as an escalation but only as a consequence and after they were previously warned this would happen while stating my boundary.
When it comes to who's responsible; you can't be held accountable for the actions of others (unless it's your child and he's/she's not an adult yet or a professional reason like being a manager) but you're still solely responsible for your values and boundaries as well as the people you make part of your social circle and how you react in case they go against your values or try to cross your boundaries.
To go to direct escalation/retaliation (as in expressing "I hate you") is imho a manipulation tactic for those who aren't able to express their emotions in a healthy way and/or have poor boundaries to begin with. I might expect this behaviour from a little child or a teenager who throws a tantrum, not from an adult.

My validation partially comes from having a hot gf and a happy relationship. It means that I'm worthy of such. It also means that she's worthy of such. It's a self perpetuating cycle of validation between partners.
[–]SoyFemboyA Fruit0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Prob should've added "solely" for clarity. Validation within relationship is great and expected. But people who expect validation only in context of relationship, they seem to either never end up in relationship or they just implode after first break up becouse all this validation cycle becomes hate cycle and they have no alternative validation.
