Why? As to the question of whether or not men are more or less 'logical' than women, individual examples are basically worthless. A claim like that is so insanely broad that the kind of evidence required to prove it is way beyond the capacity of anyone posting here (if it's even possible to prove at all).

Dear People Who Think They Or The Group They Belong To Is More Logical/Rational Than The Members Of That Other Group:

Believing you're more logical than others doesn't in any sense mean that you are (more logical than them). Anyone here who can truly make a statement like "I/my group are more logical than others/group X" (wherein both groups are composed of adult human beings not suffering some form of mental disability) needs to stand up and come get their 'I'm a fucking moron' badge.

What it means by the statement that women are more emotional than men is that women tend to be better at identifying emotions in others and in themselves. It does not mean that women's opinions and decisions are based on flippant, fleeting emotions of the moment, and men's on careful analysis of a situation, which is often what is asserted by RPers. And logic is not the antitheses of emotion.

You are not understanding something, it isn't that women are incapable of making decisions based on logic, and it isn't that men are incapable of making decisions based on emotion, it's that women's emotions tend to take over more than men's. Let me give you an example, in 2 out of the 3 jobs that I've had in the last 5 years, a woman, after feeling overwhelmed with work, has broken down and cried. In both cases, right in the middle of it, she has demanded a raise. That is an emotional decision, which, if management did not treat different due to them being women, would have gotten them fired. Think about it, how long do you think a man would last if he broke down and cried in the middle of a professional office and demanded a raise? 5 minutes, I guarantee you.

As far as you and your boyfriend, everyone wants to buy a nice new car someday. He isn't making a decision, he is setting a goal. There is a difference. Are you telling me you don't want to buy a nice channel handbag one day? In addition, you are implying that all logical decisions are good decisions and all emotional decisions are bad decisions, which just isn't true. Logical decisions can be bad, and emotional decisions can be good. In relationships, I've seen women say things like "I need a break from the being "us" and need to find out who "I " am", what the fuck does that even mean? That is an emotional thing that can't be explained, she is feeling it, and deciding break off the relationships based on that feeling.

Consider the context of sexual/romantic attraction, instead of purchasing a car or deciding which university to attend.

In the context of attraction, women tend to be influenced more by feelings and emotion, and less by logic and rationale. The bad-boys, the party guys, the bodybuilders, the pro athletes, the players ... these guys may present every red flag in the book in terms of husband/father material, but yet they have a certain something which inspires desire and attraction for plenty of women. Women will chase and cling to these men in spite of all good sense which may tell them otherwise.

Men tend to be influenced by logic and rationale moreso than their feelings - particularly guys with few to no options. Things like working at the same company, or in the same industry, or growing up in the same town, or having some of the same values or interests: these things will factor into a (beta) man's attraction to a particular woman.

IMO there's certainly a difference between the mind of the average man and the mind of the average woman - all measures of science support this and make the likelihood of sex having zero effect on cognition virtually zero.

Our brains are different sizes, have vastly different concentrations of white versus grey matter, and are more efficient at different patterns of neural connectivity. That's just the evidence I can think of off the top of my head, I know there's plenty more.

That being said, I don't think it's at all accurate to describe the commonalities within sexes in regards to cognition as simply being "women are more emotional" and "men are more logical".

I do believe that men and women experience emotion differently, but it's much more complicated than simply saying women experience emotions more intensely. This is anecdotal and very arguable, but in my experience women tend to be much more aware of what they're feeling, while men often times aren't aware of how their emotions are affecting their actions until considering it in hindsight.

We are humans , we aren't bound to decision making by our gender so there is always the exception , but statistically women are bad with money.

He has a certain prestige from owning a vehicle my guess is he's going to go for something branded like a Mercades or a BMW or audi. He thinks that it will give him a certain standing in society. That's a logical thought process. He doesn't concern himself with the details because he has made his mind up using a logical thought process. Thinking of warranties and reliability is actually emotional. Because you're worried about cost / maintenance / reliability.

Also your school choice was based on emotion you worried about the cost fear is an emotion.
