If a large and solid scientific study were to come out with something anathema to one's ideology/beliefs, which side would be better able to adapt/accept it?

There are already large, scientific studies that debunk elements of both sides. The reaction is inevitably further justification of their own beliefs and trying to criticize methodology (using the most basic things). This is how it shall go until the end of time.

Although BP has a better track record of trying to provide counter studies, RP mostly just responds with anecdotes IME. Interesting dichotomy there.

Neither. Both sides would either rationalize or dismiss certain parts of the study to make it fit a little better.

It isn't just a BP/TRP thing. Look at the debate amount vaccines and autism, first it is not a debate multiple studies have confirmed that there is not a link and yet the anti-vaccine people still want to resist the idea that vaccines don't cause autism and resist the idea that they are a necessary public health function. Once people dig in they don't want to dig out.

Excluding the fact blue vs red pill is just the result of a silly TRP metaphor I think Blue pill easily. A lot of hardened TRPers are the anti education conservative types, young guys filled with confirmation bias and generalize based off anecdotes, or laymen. I've seen a lot more "blue" people that know what's going on in a scientific study than any TRPer.

A study that is anathema to them? Like any ideology, scientific paradigm, or scientific camp, etc., both sides would have trouble accepting something anathema to their beliefs.

I would also caution that a single study, no matter how large and solid, should not be enough to completely overturn what has been established by multiple scientific studies in the past. Science depends on repeatability.

Furthermore I have noticed in the past that TRP often tends to incorporate new evo psych studies into its worldview (although these are not usually total anathema to the worldview). I've actually be somewhat uncomfortable with this fact, as it can result in TRP being unfalsifiable.

Reality is it'll likely be the same intransigence equally but I think BP would adapt just a small, little slight of a little bit better/faster. I think RP has more resistance to redefining somethings from what Ive seen (or possibly the silent majority not choosing to speak their words), but BP from what I can tell, when they dont cant dismiss the study for whatever nonessential reasons seems to have a better skillset to invent or adapt a better situation or narrative to respond to it or at least sipher off that the study would not become the core concern longer

Real science is already solidly in the RP camp. Evolutionary biology and social psychology are real sciences.
