Interestingness vs Attractiveness?

The 7/10 in looks, 8/10 in interesting.

All she has to be is hot enough, and 7 more than exceeds that threshold.

The crux of the question is "spend time with". If I'm "spending time", that means I'm being called on to invest and commit time. My time is valuable and I would want to spend it on an interesting woman (presuming she is not going to try to lord her "interestingness" over me or the exchanges or anything else).

If our clothes are staying on, then my utility function is obviously weighted in favor of "interestingness." Hillary Clinton is undoubtedly a better conversation partner than ye-random super model.

But so what?? You're really asking the wrong question. What you want to ask is, "how much does 'interestingness' factor into a woman's sexual attractiveness."

If I am presented with a choice between two women for the purposes of sex, and based on looks alone one woman is 7/10 and the other is 8/10, how much more interesting does the 7 have to be in order for me to choose her?

And even this is a very abstract question, because few men can even imagine having a choice between two "sure things."

A choice that we do often make is which woman we will invest effort into in an attempt to get laid. With two women available to chat up (like, at a party), there's probably an opportunity cost in pursuing one or the other. So that's the real choice that men actually make.

It's worth noting here (and if there was a real "red pill" for women, this would be a "red pill truth") that we men are very attuned to "availability." The vast majority of women we pursue will never have sex with us - so a woman who seems just a little easier or more interested in us is immediately noticed. To put that another way, if a girl is flirting back, she instantly wins the toss.

How interesting she is, is way way down the list of factors that I care about when I'm trying to pick her up.

7/10 in looks and 8/10 in interesting. I don't think there's that big difference between between the 7/10 and 8/10 as far as looks are concerned. Now an 8/10 in looks but a 7/10 in terms of interesting-ness vs a 6 or 5/10 in looks but a 8/10 in terms of interesting-ness would be a lot harder to answer.

the latter, a 9/10 can instantly lose 2 points by opening her mouth in front of me the wrong way and vice versa, but that depends on whether I'm just out for a fuck or trawling for quality women, if it's just a fuck I'm mainling body and face,

but if it's to meet women with 'longer term' potential aka plates, then I'm as interested in her mind but she has to come up to a high physical standard first for it to be sexual and intellectual relationship, which can sometimes turn LT, for a year or so IME, but hey I always made it clear from the get go that unless I lived with you in an LTR, I was seeing other people too

Not TRP, but this question is going to be very hard to answer because the looks scale isn't objectively attached to anything.

Some people don't view there being much difference between a 7/10 and 8/10. For other people, it is the difference between "you are attractive but look like a lot of passably attractive people" and "you are beautiful and have some stand-out features"

What the hell is interesting-ness?

Is your label of attractiveness not inclusive of such interesting-ness, or is it simply physical appearance?

Does interesting-ness, like physical appearance, fade over time (presumably as you get to know someone, the "interesting" can become mundane)?

How much time are we spending - a night, an afternoon, a weekend, a lifetime?

Does attractiveness not catch the attention, or arouse interest?

I find the mentally disturbed to be very interesting, but that doesn't necessarily mean I want to spend time with one (especially at a 7-8/10 level).

Your question needs more information. Low effort post.

I'll take the more interesting one. Hitting it one time is a rush the first few times you do it, but nowadays I prefer someone who can keep me entertained, even if it's just a couple of hours watching Netflix intermixed with a bang or two.

Edit: also, "interesting-ness" is often a product of where you are in your life. People who've travelled a lot or otherwise have a decent amount of life experience don't have to be super smart to be interesting. So a 19 yo college student is going to be pretty boring compared to a 23 yo who's in the working world.

Sightly off topic, but can I just ask: do most people truly interact with 'number' as high on the attractiveness scale as 7 and 8 every day? I mean think about it, a woman like one of these is probably considered a 9 or 10. I don't know many women who look like that; maybe, in my lifetime, I have known one or two. And yet regularly, here and on the BP and RP, I hear about men scoring with HB8's and 9's on the reg. What's up with that? I also here people grading themselves as 7 or 8's. Seriously? Are you saying that you can:

A) pull women only two to three numbers down from women who are paid fortunes to look they way they do on magazines and TV?

B) Are yourself only marginally off by two or three numbers from the pinnacle of attractiveness.

I just don't get it. I would say most of us range in the 4-6's hitting at most a 7 on a good day.

I think this question needs to be reworked recast (or perhaps better if just scrapped). it's not structured clearly and therefore does not produce interesting debate. 'Attractiveness' obviously has a lot of nuanced and esoteric aspects to it which I suppose you can broadly separate out between the physical/looks and personality. Since interesting-ness is only one small aspect of personality (others being things like sensitivity, caring, temper, abrasiveness, sense of humor, etc, etc, etc) your structure excludes a lot of personality aspects that form an overall view of 'attractiveness'. 'Interesting-ness' is like rain...in a partner, you want just the right amount of it according to your needs but not too much of it. That's why people are struggling with this - we don't really know what 'interesting-ness' means in this context so we're trying to see what your 'proxy' is for interesting-ness. Do you mean overall personality? Others have suggested 'pleasantness' which doesn't work very well either as that's only a small part of 'personality' too.

So by excluding a huge part of personality, it's like asking someone if they would rather have a car make/model with really nice leather seats and a 200 hp engine or a different make/model with standard leather seats and a 220 hp engine. The answer would probably be - "I don't know, what's the rest of the car like? Can't really say without seeing the whole car."

I would need to be seeing the people in person and interacting with them to see what the actual differences are between 7 and 8 in these categories.
