true alphas don't need a strong body, intimidate people, or shout at anyone. they stand their ground and stand up for themselves and speak their mind when they spot bullshit, but they don't need to hurt anybody or try to convince anyone to believe them. they don't seek to control others or let anyone control them. they're open to reason and aim to make the world a better place. they're the men who act like true men: they're not afraid to show who they really are. the rest are cowards whose only sense of dominance comes from the validation of others who falsely perceive it by fear and intimidation alone. real, true alphas don't want to be called alphas. they believe everyone can be great like them and will gladly help anyone looking for it. they're not concerned with defeating others, they only seek to improve on every level. you may think "if x is stronger than y, x is dominant", but true dominance comes from attitude. x wins the battle, but not the war if he's arrogant. arrogance makes you believe you are the best, when in fact, there is always another person smarter, faster, stronger, more creative. the true alphas will always rise. the rest who try to show they are remain stagnant, and eventually fall away.

Sounds like my former boss, except for the "always keeps getting fired" part. Dude got laid like tile. Earned $350K/year. I'd say he was OK with the "not well liked by people" part. He was alpha, or perceived as alpha.

I knew another guy like this. A drummer in a shitty garage band. Was a good drummer. Couldn't hold a regular job. Was aggressive, an alcoholic and a junkie. Some people liked him, but not most because he was an asshole when he was drinking and smoking weed. This dude also got laid like tile. But he wasn't alpha; because even though he got laid like tile, no men looked up to him or wanted to be him. So he wasn't alpha.

Sure "does whatever he wants" sounds good, in the context that a guy has a job, can take vacations when he wants, tries new things because he can....the guy you described seems like he sticks his fingers in light sockets because he wants to.
