I think this will lead to a continuing divide between the haves and the have-nots. Sexually unsuccessful men already have video games and porn and the internet to distract them. Immersive VR/sexbots will be that much more of a draw. Sexually successful men will have that much more of a field to play in.

Imagine if the bottom 5% of guys that are out there trying their beta best gave up over the span of a few years and retreated to sexbots. The men that were left would be swimming in it.

Even if this is invented within our lifetimes, I don't think its use will become widespread and socially accepted. That will take another generation if not multiple, the stigma of being a pervert will be way too strong among the current generation. Most men will avoid using it, only the absolute loneliest and most desperate with literally no social credentials left to lose would turn to owning a sexbot.

I don't think male-female relations are nearly as bad as RP makes them out to be. I would want a real man to share my life with, and most men want a real woman. And luckily, plenty of couples pair up and find happiness with each other. I don't think sexbots will be a thing for most people, but enough people are willing to spend crazy amounts on that stuff, so I'm sure they will be developed.

I think women and men will largely keep dealing with each other despite the fact that men and women's interests usually don't match up and are often in direct conflict with one another. I subscribe to the Stardusk school that believes men and women could probably actually be a lot more productive if they generally kept to their own instead of always trying to conform to what the opposite sex wants.

Also, just one nitpick, but VR sex will be a full-fledged thing far sooner than sexbots will. Not sure what the obsession is everyone has about "sexbots". Probably something to do with the shock factor of the term "sexbot". VR sex doesn't sound quite as future-dystopianist.

I still don't understand why some of you think women are looking for the super sexy super rich stud with a six pack. Plenty of women are interested in what you call average guys.

I think sexbots would be even more beneficial to some men who like to generalize women as unfaithful goldiggers. Since they refuse to acknowledge women are not all the same and that there are actually good women out there, why even waste time? A sexbot could definitely make them happier.
