So this week I'm visiting my grandparents. Since there is fuck all of nothing to do other than listen to my grandfather bitch about politics I decided to go through and old year book of mine I found and make a note of how many people are in relationships or not considered I see a lot about the 63 34 percentile of singleness in Gen z. So for starters I'm 22 so that means all the people in my graduation class are around that age. They way I looked for people in relationships was through Instagram. There are a total of 330 people in my graduation class. I disqualifies some people for the study. For example I disqualified people who have disabilities such as downs syndrome as well as people who either didn't have an Instagram account or had an old account from 10 years ago. I also disqualified LGBTQ people since I'm mainly focusing on hetrosexual relationships. After that the disqualified people there were a total of 244 people. 124 people were men and a total of 120 women. Of the 124 men only 28 were in a relationship meaning 78 percent were single. Of the 120 women only 37 were in relationships meaning 70 percent were single. Like any study though there is a predictor error. Since some of the Instagram accounts are private it was hard to know if there were single. Since most people in Gen z who are in a relationship usually put in their bio that there in one or they have the profile picture with there significant other. So although both are in the 70 percent range it could very well be lower. Some other interesting notes of the 83 women who were single 2 of them are single mothers. Of the 37 in relationships 2 had only fans accounts in their bio. Yes that's 100 percent true I'm not making it up. The thing I'm most surprised about is of the combined 244 people only 26 percent are in a relationship leaving almost 75 percent of people not in a relationship.
