Consider it similar to telling a joke. I can start off a joke and you can probably see what the punch line is, but you will still laugh if the delivery is good.

Negging is a PUA tactic, not RP and I've rarely ever used it. If dread game is not working, you up the dread game. If nuclear dread game doesn't work, you dump the bitch, so that solves your problem too. Amused mastery only operates under the assumption that you are a step ahead of the woman. It's her actions that give you an opportunity to use it, if she is very good, you simply have to be better.

In a game of chess, you could be aware of all the little tricks and tactics commonly used to gain major advantages.

You know the openings. You know the forks, the pins, everything... and yet as you are playing, you can't keep track of every possible intention of the other player. It's just too much. You're not a machine.

At the same time, you're busy thinking about your own choices and then... BOOM before you know it, you're caught in a damned windmill. It's over. You knew about the tactic, but still didn't avoid it.

Awareness is not a guarantee of immunity.

That being said, I agree that awareness helps against manipulation. Knowledge is power, after all.

Even then, certain types of manipulation changes styles depending on context or the people we're dealing with. A lot of the stuff mentioned on trp is very low level stuff that will only ever work on the ignorant/clueless, as you and other bpers rightfully point out. It's an implied rule that rational people understand that anything you read on the internet is simply an idea; due diligence and adaptation are always expected.

There exists techniques, who even though they may be studied or recognized by one or two people in the crowd......work. Even someone aware of them might fall for masterfully executed ones.

My guess is that they still work, but less if the subject is aware.

From what I remember in psychology, most people who are aware of biases are able to reduce their biases - but not completely eradicate them. Basically people underestimate the extent of their bias when trying to correct for it, so they only partially correct for it.

So suppose that well executed game can lead a 6 guy to seem 2 points higher. Now this 6 seems like an 8. If the woman was aware of his game, she might drop him to a 7 or 7.5. So game still works here.

On the other hand, some guys aren't adept at game. Maybe another 6 stays a 6 even while he is attempting game. If the woman is aware that he is attempting game, she might drop him to a 5 or 5.5. He'd be better off not gaming at all.

About a few weeks, I was giving a friend of mine some advice on romance next to this chick(so far a strager to me, but a friend of my friend). I hadn't been paying attention to her, and it wasn't a bar or clubbing environment at all, but she clearly got the impression that what I'm advising is particularly unsavoury and butted in to say to my friend that this type of stuff wouldn't work.

I thought it might be fun, and told her I bet it'd work on you(neg). Chick gave the obligatory derisive laugh. I sat down across her, and told her to set the scenario(amused mastery). She got intrigued and determined to upset me. We mock flirted for like 4 minutes and she laughed solidly a couple of times at the absurdity and forwardness of it but still declared it hadn't worked. Go figure.

/r/seduction has quite a lot of field reports from women who were seduced by men using pick up tactics, who even admitted straight up they were using rehearsed pick up tactics, and they still found them more attractive than the other men.

The tricks sure.

Frame can break if its too flimsy.

Domination, aggressiveness, setting boundaries, dread game, touching is solid.

To be fair it is not so much it doesn't work as it is the fact that she flings tricks back at you so that you are caught of guard and have to handle them.

If you have internalized frame, also known as character you won't have a problem.

Another advice is that it is all about a woman's feelings, it is always about ways to get a reaction and play a women's emotions like a harp.

It all depends on the victim in question. Some guileless ingenues are simply ripe for the fucking over, while a veteran slut has all kinds of in-built rationalizations for why it's acceptable for her to submit to usury by one callous player after another. She's "just having fun", two can play that game, all men are assholes anyway, "but deep down he's different", and so forth.

Women want what they want, and believe what they need to believe in order to get it.

No, they work because they are attractive not because they are manipulated.

Poorly executed they don't work if she's aware of it, but that's because it's poorly executed. If a girl can 'feel' negged because you just insulted her, then you were an idiot because negging isn't insulting someone.

So yeah, still works.

From my experience it only works on the ignorant and inexperienced. People with pretty decent self esteem and sense of self worth don't fall for this kind of stuff.
