What about hypogamy?

There's a bazillion discussions about female hypergamy (dating up in relative value) but what about male hypogamy (dating down).

As a man, the girls in my past that stick in my memories the most aren't the hottest ones. They're the girls that showed the most admiration for me and acknowledged my leadership and masculinity.

Sometimes people cheat or branch swing not to find a new partner but find a new (or rediscover an old) self. A husband leaving his wife for the secretary or intern is a common trope, it's not all because she is younger. They're in lower roles and likely look up to that man and make him feel masculine/powerful/intelligent in a way his wife does not
