There are only three ways as a man to stop focusing on women, and the third one is pretty dubious.

Be gay;
Be a eunuch;
Develop some deep religious fervour and become a Trappist monk or something similar (you would still probably masturbate over women in this scenario).

That's it. As long as your balls are working, and as long as the basic DNA and genetics are there to ensure that you're not gay then you will never be able to stop fixating on women, particularly in such a sexualised society.

I'm in my thirties now, and my libido is exactly the same as when I was 13. Perhaps I can control my erections slightly better! That's about it. That's how it is for all men. It is pointless to deny this.

If there were a MGTOW who didn't talk about women, you probably wouldn't think of him as a MGTOW, you'd think of him as Joe who rides motorcycles and collects tropical fish. So there's selection bias. The definition of the movement is "people who don't like women very much avoiding them"; the people who don't talk about not liking women very much or avoiding them don't get perceived as part of the movement.

There are MGTOW circles that don't really talk about women, especially the older men who are 35+; within that age group are a lot of men who have been shafted by the family court system. I like to hang around those guys. The main issue is that men have differing interests, so the only thing that most of them have in common are their experiences with women. As far as Sandman goes, he is just trying to exploit a market segment.

It seems MGTOW is more of a support group for men somehow etched out of the SMV/RMV than it is men who are focused on bettering themselves and their minds a la Siddhartha.

Siddhartha focuses on himself.

Support groups focus on their woes and this in this case the biggest woe of MGTOWs are women.

Two theories:

1.Probably because women have affected them so much, kinda like AA members talk about alcohol.

2.They're bitter and talk about women because deep down, they want women but the desire isn't mutual. So they say things like cunt/twat/world collapse/the wall. They are hoping to starve the system so women as a collective will come running back to them. So they're basically on strike in a roundabout way.

See, there are other forums to talk about other things. If they want to talk about (just to pick something) cars, there are car forums that are better venues for discussing that. But whenever you want to talk about avoiding women, MGTOW is the only forum where that's on topic.

So what you're seeing in /r/mgtow isn't "what MGTOWS spend time talking about" but rather, "MGTOWs talking about women"

Your question is like asking why blue pillers spend so much time talking about men and TRP. I'm sure you have other interests. And I'm sure you go elsewhere to discuss them. But if you want to talk about TRP, you go to /r/thebluepill or PPD. That doesn't mean talking about TRP is all you do.

Because they probably still see and interact with women on a routine basis so those RP theories are stuck in the back of their mind. Still the movement seems absurd for the most part. You can still talk to women and have enough self respect not to talk to the ones that have a knife behind their back. Life is so much easier that way.

It's a sell-out and applauded even among women who read it.

You also forget that there are degrees of MGTOW. A Stage I MGTOW can have good female friends and even dates, but will avoid marriage and be generally against feminism. He'll also be on the lookout for manipulative women. A Stage II MGTOW can have friends and hook-ups, he believes all women are manipulative in the SMP/RMP, because of their hypergamous nature compelling them to do so, and because feminism encourages them to do so-but still have virtues platonically, as human beings. Stage III, the vol-cels (probably incels) and IV-the melodramatic misanthropic 'ghosts'-are where things may go into the bitter or paranoid category of 'women are evil parasites'. Stage IV is basically eternal monkhood.

There's really (EDIT: three) different types of MGTOWs.

The first kind are the old school MGTOWs. These are the "confirmed bachelor" types. They date and have sex with women; but they don't tend to get involved. They don't marry, and they will not have kids. If they do date or get into an LTR, they keep everything separate, including living quarters and finances. Current examples of these are Captain Capitalism (Aaron Clarey), and The Private Man. They each have their own blogs.

What distinguishes this first kind of MGTOW from PUAs is that they aren't out to up their notch counts and they don't make getting sex a focus of their lives. What distinguishes them from Men's Rights activists is that they don't define themselves or shape their identity around their lifestyle, they don't recruit, and they aren't trying to agitate on behalf of themselves or men as a class for legal, political, cultural or social reforms.

The second kind of MGTOW are unattractive men who either (a) don't want to do the work to improve so they can attract a woman of sufficient attractiveness; or (b) are unable to improve to attract an attractive woman. These are the men who are a blowjob away from regressing back into Blue Pill slobbering slavish devotion to a woman; men who would take anything on offer. Since they can't attract women, they spend most of their time complaining about them. But if a halfway decent woman paid them any attention, they'd be falling all over themselves to leap upon their trusty white steeds to save the damsels in distress.

EDIT: There's a third variety of MGTOW, an offshoot of the first. This kind of man swears off women entirely, choosing to have nothing at all to do with them. They avoid women at all cost. They are volcels -- voluntary celibates. They do not date or have sex. They avoid interacting with women. They will not be alone with any woman, not even their own mothers, daughters, sisters, nieces or aunts. Usually, these are men who are recovering from total shellshock: They have been divorce raped; survived a false rape accusation, suffered repeated rejections, or just had a shitton of bad experiences with women. The late, great Zed the Zenpriest was one of these.

MGTOW can be a hard lifestyle to maintain and some of them need support so they don't find themselves reverting back to their TBP ways. They need to remind themselves that women are not worth the hassle. The real world does not agree with their lifestyle and they need get reassurance from the internet.

well for starters dont watch sand man everyone agree hes the bell hooks of mgtow. i would recommend rbk. second mgtow talks about women for the same reason trp talks about women. they bitter, they have been burned they can't get laid, there assholes who think their nice. the main difference is they picked up there bat and ball and fucked off.

side note there are some mgtow who dont hold trps opinions on women and are mgtow for the reason that they recognize the marriage laws are fucked up. i would argue these are the silent majority of mgtow.
