Their past sexual history wouldn't bother me, but being a sex worker would be a red flag for me to watch out for emotional/childhood/addiction/mental problems. I'm not saying ALL sex workers have issues, but I'd be willing to bet a good portion of them do. If I honestly found a balanced person that was a former sex worker and a good fit, I think I could deal with it.

I've known some strippers, a few "Suicide Girls" and probably a few prostitutes. They are all a blast to hang out with but they are terrible to their SO's, fwbs and whatnot.

Unless I knew them very, very well though, I'd want them to have a history of long term monogamous (~2+) year relationships that they didn't cheat or leave their partner for someone else during, post porn/sex-work/stripping. I'd also like evidence that they're capable of holding a steady job that doesn't involve anything in that realm.

I'm a firm believer that people can move on from their past, but if I can't see proof of effort to do so, I'm unlikely to be interested romantically.

you know, if they were someone that I was really into and happened to be a stripper... I don't see why not. I remember growing up with the mindset that strippers were 'bad' but then I actually got to know some of them and as it turns out, they're just as human as anyone else. I've never met any male strippers or porn stars/sex workers of any kind, but I assume my findings would be the same. no need to dehumanize them; I regret that I ever thought so poorly of strippers, and I resolved not to place that kind of judgment on strippers or sex industry workers just because of their profession moving forward.

that being said... I don't know that I could so easily be in a relationship with a sex worker/porn star. I don't like porn in general (personally) and the idea of being with someone who regularly sleeps with other people would be painful for me. we could still be great friends though! ha.

Sure, most of them are at high risk for STDs, but the porn/prostitution industries are tightly regulated due to the fear of spreading said diseases. Sex is a deeply ingrained urge, which means that prostitution is probably the oldest job in the world. As long as we want sex, we will have sex workers. It's best to treat them as the human beings that they are.

If I was into them, liked their personality and things, I don't see why not. I've got friends who are strippers, and they are some of the kindest, most selfless girls I know. It just so happens they worked out they can get paid very very well to take their clothes off.

I have very mixed feelings about the whole sex industry, as I think even if someone has a whole lot of self respect and their head screwed on right and they're just in there for easy money, it's a whole industry that feeds off insecurity and taking advantage of terrible situations. But that's my issue with the industry, not the individual person.
