Here it's automatically 50/50, apart from perhaps prior ownership to a property. Even parenting is automatically even between both parents after a split (sush as guardianship, and one pare t can't move the children away at all, either side pays child support to the other depending on how many nights the kids spend at either house. For example, my (37F) partner (37m) broke up after 18 years. He pays me 6 days worth of child support, I pay him 1 day worth as that's how often he wants the kids right now. Because I have them the majority of the time, and receive the larger sum of money, I pay for 100% of their upbringing. Clothes, bedding, shoes, school stuff, food, ipads or whatever.

When we broke, he held most of the money. I took $8000 and the children) he took 2 cars and about $70,000 (we didn't own a home).

I did not fight for more, because I didn't earn it to be frank. I was a stay at home mum.

With the kids we have equal parenting rights. There is no custody. I have to remain in the town, we both say where the kids go to school and all of that stuff.

Sucks that it doesn't always work out so well.
