I became a vegan May 2017. I no longer consider myself a vegan, but still think the vegans are right that it is a healthier way to live to eat fruits, vegetables, nuts & seeds. The women in their movement inspire me.

I posted Annette Larkins, she is in her 70s and looks better than any 70 year old I have ever seen. Keeps her figure in her 70s, stays true to her sense of style and fashion without having to constantly spend money on current trends, speaks multiple languages. In every interview it is obvious her husband is still in awe of the woman he married after 50 years.

One of the biggest doctors in the movement is Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn. He is a cardiologist who advocates for not just a vegan diet, but a vegan diet with NO OIL. When he started prescribing this diet--- his patients would say "ok but what do we eat??" He went home and tasked his wife Anne with coming up with how to cook vegan no oil food AND make it taste good so his patients would stick to his diet. He attributes his success as a cardiologist to her support of him and her cooking skills. She is now established author of several cookbooks. They have been married 34 years.

Dr. T Colin Campbell, upon doing his research in the China Study decided their family should become vegan and tasked his wife Karen with learning to cook delicious vegan food. Dr. John McDougall did the same for his wife, Mary McDougall. Both of these men attribute what they have been able to do within the movement to their wives. Karen Campbell & Mary McDougall are pioneers in cooking vegan long before you could go to the store and buy processed veggie burgers on the shelf.

For me it’s Blake Lively - she comes across as light, fun but also a great cook, wife and mother! She’s very graceful and obviously stylish but also makes it look effortless!

This might sound silly, but Daphne from Frasier. She wouldn’t date a married man that was rich and in love her (for most of the show), she was stylish (most of the time), she took care of her family, but she held her own, too. She also let her personality quirks out, meaning she didn’t change who she was and her values as a blue collar woman when she moved in and worked for a wealthy psychiatrist.

I'll name a few who come to mind, although some will certainly be controversial. It's always hard to judge women who are in the public eye since they live such different lives from us and we only get to see what the media portrays.

Unfortunately, no real life people inspiration. I do look up quite a bit to Laura Petrie from Dick van Dyke show. She's by no means a perfect wife but I enjoy that as well, makes her relatable. She is an overall great wife and mother and such a lady.

I really like Emilia Clarke. The way she portrays herself on social media is very different from her Game of Thrones character. She is a liberal feminist, but she presents a good balance of femininity, modesty, and not taking herself too seriously.

I really love Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. She always looks so put together and calm- even with three small children. When I see her grabbing groceries in jeans, she still just looks gracious and lovely. Shee not my personal style icon, because I’m definitely less classic and more eclectic/edgy- but I can appreciate her influence on fashion and her overall grace!

Audrey Hepburn was another one for me for similar reasons I know, I’m not very original but she’s a personal hero of mine lol I’d also put Jennifer Garner and Blake Lively (who’s style I love!!) at the top of my list.

My MIL. At first I felt intimidated by how well she does everything, but now I just try to emulate her. She is always light and joyful. She never gets upset. Like ever. I have never seen her be manipulative. She keeps a beautiful home, is always respectful of her husband. I think I’ve maybe heard her argue once in ten years and it wasn’t even real arguing just a brief more heated exchange that was quickly resolved. I really hope I can be more like her.

Reading "Anna Karenina" by Tolstoy. The description of the characters shows plenty of RP-dynamics. It is amazingly well observed and described.
