So, my husband is on his first work trip - and it's extended and he's out of the country.... and I really just don't know what to do with myself.

I'm feeling a bit pathetic because I'm a grown woman and the creaking house is giving me the heeby-jeebies!

I seriously checked all the locks 3 times last night, and the dog will hear anything before I do. I don't want him concerned while he's away. This is an amazing opportunity for him. I keep myself busy when I get home from work, he'll come home to a very clean house - but at some point I have to go to sleep and it actual scares me. I've lived with him for over 4 years, and while I have slept alone in the house on occasion it's never been for weeks at a time.

He's worried I'll feel alone - and sure, I do feel alone - but not in a juvenile I need someone to cuddle with way I have a teddy bear and a puppy I'm good thre - I'm feeling alone like someone might break into my house and I'll have to break out his gun. My girlfriends live too far away for sleepovers and it's silly to have to rely on them. He already told me who to call if I need help but that's more for like, the powers out and you can't get the generator started help not 3am and you're hearing things outside help.

I also feel like I have no one to talk to about this - all my friends are super independent wymen and 'like omg isn't it awesome to have the bed to yourself once in a while?' Ugh - sure, if I could fall asleep. I probably have co-dependency issues.

Any words of wisdom or advice ladies?

Edit --- Thanks for all the kind words, and to the few ladies who reached out via PM to keep me company. You all rock!! He comes home tomorrow and I'm so bloody excited!!!! I think the next business trip I'll be a little more prepared. :) I love how supportive this community is.
