It started with women, modern men are just leveling the playing field. Men used to want 4-10 kids because paternity was more guaranteed without contraceptives (women would take fewer chances when they were not able to use bc or abort secretively) and a human life was the best investment you can make towards your future, so the more kids the better.

If modern men could have guaranteed paternity on 80% of their kids, no chance of divorce, no child support payments and a guarantee that some of their kids will provide them with income and support for their last few years of life, I'd guess most would want 4-10 or more children.

But today? Women can use contraception to selectively allow sperm through, abortion and more contraception to hide promiscuity and "contraceptive accidents" to lock down commitment from a man regardless of paternity. Given that female contraception isn't disappearing any time soon, it's only fair that men should also be able to control whom their sperm enters, how many women they safely have sex with and when they have children. And soon they will be able to do all this via contraception.

But that would involve not having sex until you want to have babies, just in case. Women can have sex and enjoy a fairly high contraceptive efficiency rate when they take the pill properly or use an IUD. And women know when they're on the pill or have an IUD, whereas a man can't know for sure that a woman he's with is on contraception at all, let alone using it properly when she is.

Why should women be able to control when they have kids whilst still having sex, but men have to avoid sex entirely to get a similar level of certainty they won't reproduce before they are ready?

Female options for reproductive control in order of stage of sexual interaction:

1: Don't have sex.

2: Sterilization.

3: IUD.

4: The pill.

5: Condoms (male and female).

6: Emergency birth control.

7: Abortion.

Male options for reproductive control in order of stage of sexual interaction:

1: Don't have sex.

2: Vasectomy.

3: Male condom.

How is that a level playing field?

Some women may genuinely find it feels different. Latex and skin have different textures. But lubrication masks a lot of the difference and most women easily engage in some imagination when it's convenient for them. Think of it as solitary role-play. Women often need a little time to warm up and can be easily distracted (great evolutionary measure to make us less vulnerable during sex, not so cool when there isn't a hungry panther or a rogue Alpha trying to hunt us down). Solo-role-play can get us out of that brain clutter and into the moment. Apparently one of the most common ones is imagining he forced us. That way he becomes the most important thing in the room, even the world, however gentle he's actually being, because he is worthy of both our desire AND our fear.

You didn't reply to my other comment so let's see if you reply to this one.

Once again, I went on google. This time I typed "prime age to give birth" and clicked this link (the first link that popped up).

They list all the pros and cons to having a baby in your 20s. Here's a quote since I doubt you'll go to the website anyways

"Experts say the average woman's fertility peaks in her early 20s. So from a strictly biological perspective, this is the best decade for conceiving and carrying a baby."

This is easily verifiable, I have no idea why you're sitting around defending your wrong viewpoint when the truth is only a google away.

You need to accept that your mom got lucky by having 2 healthy kids at age 40 and if one of those kids had a miscarriage or came out retarded, well it's hard to say you hadn't been warned because you could have figured out the increased risks of having a baby at age 40 by spending 1 minute on google.

So what exactly do we consider defects here? You didn't prove anyone wrong except maybe yourself, but its hard to tell because you're inconsistent with your arguments.

Bulk/cut cycles were invented because the pros back in the Arnold years went off steroids during the off-season. During those times, they ate as much as humanly possible in order to lose as little muscle as possible, fat gains be damned. After all, they'd lean out when they went back on cycle. Nowadays, pros and many amateurs never come off-cycle, instead choosing to blast and cruise. They also don't have bulk/cut phases. To be sure, they lean out for competitions, but besides that, they're not wildly varying their caloric intake in phases of bulking and cutting.

And why would they? In the bulk phase, you're eating like a pig, gaining lots of fat just to put on a little muscle. In the cut phase, you're starving yourself just to cut the fat you put on by eating too much. You don't need to eat so much to put your body in an anabolic state, and if you don't eat so much then you don't need to starve yourself later on. Besides, it's counterproductive to spend half the time in a catabolic state. In a catabolic state, you're not going to build muscle, and your body really, really wants to cannibalize what you already have—it thinks there's famine, and muscle is simultaneously an energy source and very metabolically costly to maintain.

In short, weight training is great, but the bulk/cut cycle, unless you're also cycling the 'roids, is probably not the optimal eating strategy.
