Anyone here work in finance that can offer advice? Or anyone that has found moderate financial success (top 10%-15% in your country).

I’m an engineering student at a top 10 school looking to either go straight into finance (IB is the only path I’m vaguely familiar with) or some sort of engineering-finance mix (consulting maybe). I’ve heard that finance is looking pretty shit right now at least in the US. Anyone have any comments on that? Regardless of whether I stay in engineering or not I do plan on returning to school later to get my MBA ( ideally at another top 10 school).

Any tips on making myself a good candidate right now (halfway through college) for a top MBA program, good finance internship, or a career in finance postgrad? Besides the obvious (good GMAT score, work for a prestigious firm, etc.)

What do I do after the MBA? How do I land that solid exec position? I know it’s unlikely that I ever see the 1% in my lifetime but I want to get as close as I can to it. I know very little of what life will be like if I get to that point and have no idea what steps I can take right now to prepare myself to beat my competition.

I feel intense melancholia.

I'm at the peak in my career, I'm sleeping with women almost effortlessly and financially I'm far ahead of my peers in their 20's.

I have close friends I see regularly and I've been investing more time in hobbies like sailing and hiking.

And yet I have this apathy for it all.

The more money I earn the less it means - it's just an abstraction, I realise that women (and most people) are a pointless time waste, goals which I thought were lofty were crushed. I don't think about anything other than my business, I'm hiking in the mountains, I'm lying in bed literally after sex and I think about work.

My mentors I spoke to almost uniformly said this never goes away, one said he was watching his son being born and was thinking about one of his businesses that was about to list.

Thoughts?

I've recently abstained from using tinder/bumble because I've been relying on this to get hookups or pile plates. I'm looking to work on cold approaching at bars/coffee shops. Here's my issue. I don't have issues striking up conversations with random people, I just have an issue going to a bar, solo. For some reason I feel out of place when I go sit at the bar by myself. Is there a book to which I can refer or have some tips for getting over this? Or is it that they simply value the BB side more and, in contrast, the AF side less than a slut would? Do girls like this always end up with a Beta? Are they then doomed to boring sex lives with guys whom they are not attracted to? In a way I want to be the standard of what everyone wants to be. Hot wife, big house, earn 6 figures and have kids. I would like to have this. Hosting family BBQ's and the holidays and having the kids in the pool and me being the dad I am i'm grilling that sounds peaceful and fulfilling not gonna lie. But i'd also be RP the fuck out of my sons if I had sons. At the same time I think I'd rather be the cool uncle who's single who all the nieces and nephews love. Because i'm the cool uncle who doesn't care and likes to have fun. However i'm an only child so I don't know how that would work. I guess be the "uncle" to my friends' kids. I'm kind of torn between the two. Is there such thing as a red-pilled woman? I came from a great family and believe in marriage because I believe I can find what my dad found in my mother: what I believe to be a red pilled woman. A woman who knows she's subservient to her husband. She wants nothing more out of life than to have his children and be his wife. Both my parents are religious, I feel like I know deep down with 100% certainty she would never touch another man other than my pop. Of course my dad earned this by working like a horse because it's all he knows and enjoys. I feel like a lot of this community is anti-marriage, but I think a man with a lot of self discipline and value and can pull a women to a degree where he known for a fact she's loyal to him. im 26 years old right (you can skip all this and look at the last lines tbh) for a long time i was like "i dont need woman, they are but a waste of time, sucking up your money, putting themselves above you (because thats the kind of people i saw the most)" stuff like that.

got a job, a real one for once. there is this girl with wich i fell in love, she rejected me, in the end what she did was to open my eyes. am i single because i want to? or because i really have no value? i believe is the later.

i dont really mind if im alone or with someone later but, i want to experiment, to feel, then i can decide if i want to be by myself or with a family, because right now it just feels like thats the only option i have.

little time after she rejected me I meet TRP, I find it interesting, realize the wrong in my ways but the more i read the more i feel like im indeed in the starting point.

i dont like loud places, and at parties i just stand still if i dont know anyone or the pople i know is bussy with other stuff/people, or talk with the people i know.

I just want you guys to give me an insight about this girl i’m talking to. I met her at university. In fact she attends one of my classes in which we were given an assignment i was supposed to work on with her. At first We started texting but it was mostly about our plans for the assignment, nothing serious. I am a newly graduated high schooler going away for the summer June - early August. I am contemplating dropping all conversation with a couple of my plates because I do not like the idea of talking to these girls for 2 months without actually getting to meet up with them, however when I return home I do not want to have to restart the process of gathering plates from my hometown area.

Let’s say hypergamy doesn’t exist. Every woman just has some sort of internal radar that allows them to appreciate guys for “who they are” regardless of how far away they are from our current idea of an alpha.

Would today’s school shootings still have happened? I think we all know the real reason they’ve been happening. Hell, the Santa Fe shooter was rejected four times by one girl. Rightfully so by her though.
