Without knowing more, it's hard to say. Most suicide victims don't want to die. We know that from talking to people that attempted suicide and survived. There are a few that really went down that road and meant it. I've never been sure why men just tend to use more sure means, like a gunshot to the head, than women tend to use. I think you are right in that it will become more common, though.

Cutting your wrists hurts, a lot, and it's going to take you a little time to bleed out. Swallowing a whole bottle of Motrin might not kill you today. No, it'll just kill your liver today, you'll die tomorrow and in a lot of pain.

The reason I think we are seeing more suicides, overall, even if you discount the elderly that are essentially making end of life decisions is that we have become such a lonely society. One of the biggest problems I run into is trying to get people to look away from their cell phones and engage for a bit. I think about those people, the ones I manage to get to talk to don't have riveting social lives. Often, most of their "human contact" comes in the form of that cell phone. It's honestly a sad, lonely, and disconnected way to live. That happens to be a recipe for depression and suicide.

Seems like a stretch.. She may have had a million other reasons to commit suicide. She may not have bought into the feminist ideology and have still been single. Not sure how or where you are connecting dots.

This is a classic case of looking for results in data that you want to find as opposed to finding objective truths in there.

No, Feminism doesn't kill. The female suicide rate is half what it was before Feminism took hold. Before feminism, women essentially had no choice but to marry, and fast, and then were trapped in bad marriages for which there was literally no way out.

You need to put a stop to your fantasies that it's going away. It isn't. Trust me, I'm no fan of it, but expecting it to disappear because it doesn't magically solve every female problem is not your path to happiness.

I have suffered from depression and an anxiety disorder. It has everything to do with brain chemistry and nothing to do with one's political viewpoints or concepts of gender identity. I'm a conservitive republican and successful professional. Hearing about anyone losing their battle with mental illness saddens me.

People are still human. You seem very angry. A woman still took her own life, I wouldn't be pointing fingers at why, when you have no idea about anything else in her life.

Also, men have killed themselves at a higher rate than women since forever. Is that a fault of the patriarchy?

Firstly, I want to be clear that I find it a tragedy when any person takes their life, whether it is a man or a woman.

From what I see, given the current economic issues presenting themselves in today's day and age, both men and women are at risk. Today both men and women in their 40's and 50's, that end up alone, have a situation that has been exacerbated by the uncertainty in the current labor market. Both men and women have to deal with these issues. It is just that in men's case they are told to man up, suck it up, and move forward (to consider it an opportunity for change).

You also have a generation of women the same age that wonder why they can't get any dates and find themselves alone. Most men, of the same age, unfortunately have learned the hard way that relationships are not worth it. So, really, what is a man's incentive to pursue a relationship when they can live better on their own, have their freedom, and for many, they have been turned off (from relationships) because their relational experience has been where they have sacrificed but have not had their needs reciprocated accordingly.

I don't want to make light of this woman's suicide. But it does happen to men more frequently. I think that as women pursue the individuality that men are increasingly pursuing, that we may see more of these incidents occur in women. Do we ever tell women to suck it up, move on, and consider it an opportunity?

I am a man who lives alone. I am in my mid-50's and have just dealt with a divorce within the last year. I have been dealing with depression and there have been days when I don't feel like getting up and facing life. However, I do it every day and face my demons. I go to a job with an uncertain future every day. I try to be proactive and have been looking for new opportunities. I have made an effort (sometimes forcing myself) to experience life (as much as I can afford). I realize that even though I face life alone, I do have the freedom to do some of the things I want to if I am willing to put forth the effort. So in closing, are we wrong not to expect women to do the same thing?

All my work female colleagues, with their maximum efficiency of about 20% of a drunken man, most of them are childless, unattractive, possibly psychologically unstable cunts. I have to chime in here. I've noticed a lot of my male friends have opened up about their own depressions, including being medicated and all the rest. While I don't disparage against that, people have their problems, I don't think what they're doing and how they are handling it is correct. Their openness is possibly encouraging in others suffering from depression being more OK with it, but the way they're now viewed by their peers just seems to be a standpoint of pity. This in my opinion is just making them circle constantly and of course the projections from women in the peer group is most certainly one of ultra pity. Women like drama and the way they speak to these guys now is how you would speak to an upset child to put it mildly.

I'm not saying it's not OK to talk about depression, just noticing that this snowball effect just seems to be across both the sexes and for the same reason. Women don't need no man, yay feminism, let's treat men like shit. Most men then don't get the attention they would like from these women, that depresses them and women don't respect them viewing them as lacking strength and being weak. And round the cycle goes.

It's a strange world for sure.

Because feminism has much greater impact on the well-educated young women. I am curious, where did this unfortunate lady go to school and was she college-educated. What type of job did she have?

I read in Time magazine a couple of years how white women in their 50s were dying. These days, 50s are very young to die without disease or cause. The article attributed the trend to a mix of addiction (alcohol, opiods, etc.) and depression. These sorts of deaths can look like suicide.

Socially speaking, I think we live in the best of times. Ethnic barriers are done so there are fewer "Romeo and Juliet" scenarios playing out. Both men and women are no longer pressured to procreate. And there are a lot of social channels to keep people busy and connected these days well into old age. ..... so you don't need children to keep yourself connected anymore.

Seems to me was in earlier times that more people died alone. That women rarely met an eligible man to marry outside of university and certainly not later than at the age of 25 and so on.

My sister did it at 30. She was beautiful. Low n count (she was pretty open with me about stuff like that), really relationship oriented. But always looking for the chadder Chad. Kept branch swinging. It wasn't the only factor but a big part of her downfall. A fucking shame.

Been divorced twice. Both wives threatened suicide when I left, but I left anyway.

My ex has full custody of my kids. I'm worried like hell for my daughter. I don't know how the hell I'll be able to red pill that kid. Sluttiness is touted as a virtue these days.

Good post, I’ve actually thought about investing in anti depressants. Not just for feminism, but there is a lot of garbage in the world that people over indulge in that makes them lazy and depressed. Women are biologically built for one main purpose: to make children.

A woman who does not produce a child is worse than a beta Incel.

Studies show, by generation, that close to 90% of women end up reproducing, whilst only 20% of men are biologically fathers.

As for all the moralizing over this women's suicide. She was weak. That's all there is to it. The science is in: women who have children, and continue to have children, are significantly less likely to suffer from depression than women who don't.

Go figure, an organism that fulfilled its biological imperative is less depressed than one that didn't.

An organism that didn't fulfill it's imperative is literally a waste of resources for the tribe. The urge to off yourself is derived from the social organism that you unconsciously participate in- it's attempting to cast off the dead weight.

Basically, if you don't contribute value, you're a waste of space and your urge to kill yourself is simply a feature of the system to insure that the incels do not continue to be a drain on the system.

It's only going to get worse. Much worse. There's a theory a few on here have, myself included, where when younger girls now grow up there will be a mass number of depressed people and suicides due to women not getting the attention they used to

All those dopamine hits and Instagram likes will be obvious as the contrast increases day by day (the more dopamine you access the less you have later on if you use it too much, hence depression and anxiety starts to set in)
