Hello chaps. Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this but I thought it may be of interest / help for anyone going though a similar situation. To paraphrase, I am decorved and have been and have been paying child maintenance for ten years. My ex wife was a very controlling influence on my life and I left after several incidents of physical violence. After the separation I suffered from depression not being able to see my child and have only very recently pulled out of the cycle of drinking heavily. My family have seen recent pictures of my child and have shared concerns of the child looking nothing like Me and looking a lot like their half siblings ( she became pregnant again two months after the initial separation) it is a fact that I have tried to block out of my head for years. I Spoke to the csa today . It will cost £20.00 (twenty pounds) to request a paternity test, which if denied will result in any claim for maintenance being void. . I'm going to get this started today. I will keep this updated on this sub, in case it will be of help to anyone and likewise, if anyone has any advice or experience to share I would be very grateful. Feel free to asked me any questions chaps and I hope you all have a good day.

Edit @ 17:33 UK time Thank you very much everyone. I'm slightly overwhelmed by how many people have replied to this post. I haven't had the strongest resolve for many years and you have all helped me a lot more than it may show today.
