I agree. I appreciate the work that must have gone into it, but it was a lot better before. The bold headings are too much and there are too many boxes. I just switched off 'Use subreddit style.'

Yeah, I don't really like the new design either. Each division seems emphasized and it looks more like an early '00s forum. I vote to change the scheme back to the original.

its terrible, its dark, the boxes are too large (less posts visible), its more difficult to see which posts you have read, its harder to read cause the text is smaller..

im glad im not the only one who doesnt like this style.

Too much clutter, and inconsistent branding. Less is more gentlemen. However, the message hierarchy is improved - it's easier to work out the parent-child relationship of the messages when confronted with long series. Usability is a bitch to get right!

Ugh, I love this subreddit, but design wise there's too much going on here. Too many colors. Too much unnecessary contrast. No coherent theme. The spacing is weird and inconsistent. It looks amateur.

I know people are clamoring for the old design, but to be perfectly honest that one kind of sucked too. I'd either find a proper designer, or (preferably) just go with the basic reddit theme + flair? No need to go overboard on this, the content should speak for itself.

What you're seeing in those two pictures is a result of Adblock Element Hiding Helper and NoSquint addons working together. The result is unholy, almost heretical, power to customize every site's appearance to my whims - I can block whatever button, frame, image, object or script I fucking want & I can change background color, font color, zoom level and text zoom level. With only two addons.

I can do a similar thing with Youtube.

Custom filters for Adblock hide video ads, suggestions in the video, sidebar, endscreen, annotations, comments... You know what, it just hides all the bells and whistles, except the video I want to watch. The amount of control Firefox addons give to the user is outright scary. And that's the way it's supposed to be, end user should have the choice over his browser's appearance and function.

I love the way thread pages look now, very readable, super easy to tell what branch belongs to what tree.

However, I think that the front page needs work. The font and the font colour for thread titles is way too strong and harsh.

I dont mind it. Its looks clean and sharp. The shadows need tweaking to be less intrusive though.

Also, it breaks night mode on RES... so i've had to disable the style for the time being.

This new style DOES allow us to follow the conversation a lot easier then before - it seems to be designed to layer the threads in such a manner that it is very easy to tell which response belongs where.
