1), I'm not a bar guy, but my thought is if a woman is interested in you and she's liking your interaction, then an annoying guy coming up and trying to be the third wheel is easy mode escalation. Odds are she finds his presence just as annoying as you do and you can just suggest you two go for a walk. 2), just laugh it off like you did. You think that's a story she wants to tell her friends? "Oh I was outside this restroom, and these guys told me their friend just needs to get laid. 3) Any woman who can be "stolen" while you're gone for 5 minutes isn't worth having in the first place. Think of them as doing you a favor. They're making you look good by making themselves look bad. They're reminding her how creepy and pathetic many guys are and she can be thankful she has one who isn't like that. They're your wingman in disguise.

Protip: If you see a guy with a great woman, make friends with the guy. You can never have too many quality male friends\contacts, and high quality hot women tend to have high quality hot friends, some of whom are bound to be single. My normal method with these types of guys is to talk to them for a little, be nice, show the girl that I'm not an insecure/possessive type, and then lead the girl away at some point. But in each of these cases, these guys are clearly crossing a line. For each of these guys, once the guy tries to get her number or says something sexual, I would have said firmly "hey dude, I'm on a date, knock it off." I hate saying shit like that I hate getting into confrontations with random dudes on the street because you have no idea what kind of psychopath you are dealing with, but I think this is happening to you because you are being too nice.

As for the guys doing it, most of them are just listening to their dick and not thinking rationally. That's why being confident and calling them out often makes them freak out and run away. Most guys are like this - they have no idea how to act around girls, and they are 100% running on emotion.

Women will always be approached. Just cause you are there doesn't change much. That doesn't mean that every guy will do what you described, but you shouldn't be surprised if it does. Thankfully I haven't had anything like that happen to me but in my experience women can be brutal to each other when competing for a man. A girl I was dating got into a fist fight with a chick that was trying to pick me up. Pretty damn embarrassing in hindsight, but interesting to find out.
