Two degrees? Degrees have little correlation with income unless they are very specific. Only over the long term does a college degree net you more money, and that requires including all the doctors and lawyers.

Living paycheck to paycheck is a lifestyle choice. Living in a tiny apartment is a lifestyle choice. Your job is a lifestyle choice.

Sitting around waiting for things to happen rarely works out. You have to grab life by the horns if you want change.

Your friends with big houses and cars have big debt and obligations. And I doubt anyone bought their house for cash. And although a wife “theoretically” doubles your income, it mostly is a 4x multiplier to expenses and debt, hence the useless big house.

You've got two choices:

Number one: Figure out where you've made mistakes in life, decide where you want to be in the future, figure out a realistic plan to get to that point, and follow that plan.

This choice takes discipline, dedication, hard work, and sacrifice. You will have to change your lifestyle and desires. If your plan is to save money, you won't be able to spend $10/day on lattes ($3,500/year).

That doesn't mean you have to live a spartan lifestyle. You just might have to cut back on some of the luxuries you're used to.

Number two: Don't change anything and bitch about it. Find people who will shelter you and validate your bad decisions.

This choice is easy. You don't have to make and follow a plan, you don't have to dedicate yourself to making your life better, and you don't have to look at the (personal, financial, health, and relationship) wall you're about to hit.

The internet makes #2 even easier. People don't actually care about you so they'll say things to make you feel better. They might even be sincere, because they're crashing into their own wall and want you to justify their feelings.

This is what a BS and a Masters in Women Studies gets you.

I don't know what else can be done to help. Women are giving more scholarships, they get more attention from professors, more of them graduate colleges, businesses would rather hire women over men and if they have trouble getting jobs there are women's employment groups to help them. A lot of them live in houses paid for by men that are legally forced to stay away.

The thing is, she is 35 now, at 55 nothing will have changed. Ironically the 2 college degrees in "nothing worth while" have doomed her to debt and never getting ahead. She should have made better choices. Men, look long at hard at this, be smart, choose wisely, Get a stem degree or a trade, be cautious and only marry a good one, otherwise go your own way.

This is truly sad. I get no schadenfreude from people like her. At 35 I have a house and a wife and savings and a job I never thought I’d get. At 27, though, I was literally busing tables for minimum wage and living with my parents. It took a great deal of effort and the unconditional support of my wife, then fiancée, to grow up and be the man she knew I could be. Relationships and marriage aren’t the absolute key to security and purpose but I don’t like to think where I’d be if I hadn’t decided I wanted to be better for myself and for her. A good, honest woman really changes everything for the better.

Problem is so many women think that the rule for life is either one thing or the other: either you have to be married and happy or you can be a CEO. Nothing on between. For me personally the reason she has this terrible life she describes and keeps being single is just because nobody wants to be beside someone that despite having an apartment, a job in the middle of a pandemia, two college degrees etc still manages to keep on complaining! It’s boring to be besides someone like this! It’s probably one of the women who say that SAHM are patriarchy’s daughters.

Well, I’d love to be one. I live with my boyfriend/partner for over a year now and he is a doctor, could easily just have me home cooking and cleaning all day but says he wants me to do what I love and really supports me to keep on studying to get my college degree (I’m also a med student 👨‍🎓). People just complain so much it’s heavy standing them. If you’re not some dirty as5 b1tc4 you’re not gonna be single, dear. Go wash yourself and give yourself some love and it’s all gonna fix
