Like in college, if you were a manic pixie dream girl with tattoos, a wierd pet and quirky mannerisms I was super into you. However, a lot of the time the people who wrapped themselves in the identity of being "strange" were doing it as a cover for their insecurities of not being interesting or smart enough on their own. So it's like they had to invent this cover of "Look at me! I'm so quirky and special! ....but please don't look too deep because I'm afraid you'll see the real me and get bored and leave."
