Children will be better off in homes where the parents have the closet bond with each other. Women will be able to bond much more easily with their partner (and maybe their kids) when they are younger and have had fewer anonymous, varied, risky sexual encounters.

Besides the effect on kids, I think it's probably better for society in general if people are not primarily pursuing ephemeral, pleasure-based relationships, but establishing longer-lasting friendships and community ties.

Men have more ability to have children later in life, so their ideal period to be fathers is probably a bit longer.
