LET HER, always let them talk about making it exclusive, that's how it's always been to me, basically just shows that you know without a doubt she has some real interest in you
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
This. She’s the one that initiates relationship escalation.
Biggest passion killer is you escalating
[–]hookedonfonicsmunky 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
bro!!! doesn't that suck that it's the truth!!! haha like why does everything we do have to be so meticulous and if we make a slightly wrong move they'll run away
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Oh and the worst is how they flip a switch at 30…
Before 30, never escalate.
After 30 they chewing you out if you haven’t proposed by the end of the appetizers on your first date…

So just updating since you have the top comment.
Last night I took her out to a nice dinner. We came back to mine after and later that night she mentioned something about us being sexually exclusive, which I told her I was open to.
So all in all im really happy. Didn't expect her to bring it up so soon.

Ha I felt the happiness for you for a bit but then I got a sinking pit feeling in my stomach because I know too well what that initial happiness leads to. Yes I need to heal lol

Ugh so true. But heartbreak leads to good character development. My last breakup improved me all for the better.
Nothings forever. Enjoy it while it lasts

Your job is to be fun. She will bring up relationship talk around 5-7 weeks if she likes you
I promise if you bring up anything that sounds like a relationship (ie act like a woman) she'll lose attraction

I think it's totally ok for you to bring up the relationship talk. I wouldn't listen to folks saying let her do it, doesn't make any sense. Especially given all the amazing signs it seems you're getting.
That being said, 2 weeks is a liiiiiittle bit soon. However, sometimes people fall hard and quick. if you're pretty confident the feeling is mutual then you should feel comfortable bringing it up. A slight modification would be to frame it as being "exclusive", and seeing her response. That's a bit lighter than saying "hey do you want to be my girlfriend?". Some people will do an "exclusive but not calling bf/gf" phase in between the bigger leap to full on committed relationship. This is to see how things go for another couple weeks because there is always a honeymoon phase and you don't want to commit too hard too early. If she is on the side of "being exclusive is the same as being bf/gf", and pushes you back on that, then that's your in to say "well I'm open to that if you are".

Someone must start The Talk. The sooner the better.
[–]AngeloMacon 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you're asking us, don't be asking her. General rule of thumb is let a woman push the relationship forward. If you have some experience, there does become a point where there's no harm. I'm guessing you're not that experienced though.... so just keep courting her without saying anything about monogamy, girlfriend, moving in together, or wife unless she brings it up first.
[–]Mmm91for 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You don’t. This is for the female to bring up.
[–]whitepillman 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Woman needs to be the one to ask for the relationship (she wants to from an attraction standpoint). That said, you don’t want to risk her thinking you’re not serious about her (the opposite problem I’ve made). You bridge the gap with clues/action (not words) that you are open to a relationship if she asks. Take her on a nice date to a nice place and tell her to dress up and wear something nice and pay for everything on the date - guys who don’t want a relationship don’t do this. Don’t do flowers or overdo or anything. Don’t give her the “you’re special to me” speech. None of that. The nice date itself is a simple indication you want a relationship. Get her to sleep over more, cuddle with her more, hold her hand more, and get her to invest in you more (have her cook you breakfast in the morning). The more “things” she does for you the better so keep an eye on that too. She WILL ask for exclusivity if that’s what she wants. So focus on very small indicators that you’re open to it and she will close the deal.

Wow i literally did all this last night before I even read this comment. And guess what, last night she asked if we could be exclusive. So what do you know it worked
[–]whitepillman 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Haha that’s awesome man! Congrats

After you laid her
[–]Competitive-Link-912 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Let her bring it up. She will do it eventually.
Be honest when she generally asks if you are looking for a relationship at the start. If the topics comes up again about her in the early stage like her but need to get to know her better be committing.
Intentions communicated generally without coming across as desperately infatuated.
If things go well, you naturally fall into a relationship like lifestyle with her and she will bring it up.
How she brings it up could vary from wanna be exclusive /bf and gf. Her telling you she’s not dating anyone else to saying I love with within 3 weeks as a Freudian slip 🤣
[–]DontCallMeTopher -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Women chase commitment, men chase sex. Keep doing your thing and let her bring it up. Otherwise she is going to know she’s got you hooked.

Ain’t no way this a real question. Your a man you should be the one asking not the girl. If your keep waiting it’s going to end. Ask her.
[–]shittyfuckdick5 points 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Very unhelpful. We all got to learn somehow
[–]MrBlack__ 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Wrong you should never ask a girl to be your girlfriend
[–]OTXnando 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
“If she’s asking where is this going?” Or “ what are we? “ that’s the sign the hint for you to take the lead and ask her out to be your girlfriend.
[–]MrBlack__ 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Even then, I wouldn’t take the lead on the idea. I always make it seem like they got me. It’s a major frame in a relationship.
[–]OTXnando 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The only reason she’s bringing those questions up is because obviously she caught feelings and to make it not hurt her asking him straight out. she’ll ask these type of questions because she’s afraid of rejection.
Yeah so you have a conversation about it
Not just “errr wanna be my girlfriend”
I’m like okay cool, we can be exclusive BUT then say whatever I expect in a relationship if i like her enough that is

Have you gotten physical yet?
[–]shittyfuckdick 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Yea we’ve had sex multiple times and she slept over once. Can’t keep our hands off each other
[–]Used-Engineering4996 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Ok then is asking “do you want to be exclusive?” really that big of a deal?
[–]shittyfuckdick 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I mean that’s basically my question. Wasn’t sure if it’s too soon. Also cause I’ve read you’re supposed to let her ask so I don’t come off too clingy/needy.
So yea idk how to answer that question which is why I posted this.
[–]throwaway_6196190012 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah wait for 3 more weeks lol. She'll bring it up but if she's the shy type then it would probably be ok to bring up that kinda talk.
Like "are you dating anyone else?"
[–]TruSiris 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
who cares what you read. be yourself, follow your instincts and don't worry about if it does end up going anywhere or not, if you're concerned about pushing her away then you're most likely gonna do just that. just get out of your head and flow.
[–]CometAzur42069 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Also cause I’ve read you’re supposed to let her ask so I don’t come off too clingy/needy.
after sex, you should just ask "Hey, where do you see this going? I'm interested in something a bit more serious."
then you'll know right there, most people are more honest after sex. if she's not interested at all, then you probably should break it off since you caught feelings and it'll end badly. if she is interested, she might be a bit coy and give an indirect answer then tell you sometime after she wants to be exclusive.
[–]Therocksays2020 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Just ask then. I think two weeks is too quick personally but you shouldn’t over think things.
[–]grindforthegold 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
this makes me a bit jealous :’) happy for you. just take it easy man. don’t be too serious bringing up a serious talk.
you can say something funny like if she gets jealous be like oooh are you jealous? you want me all to yourself? I think i’d be ok with that
But usually I ask girls out at the 4 week / month mark if we’re like basically already dating
most girls will bring up dating etc within that time frame and you know you’re good. don’t let it go too long to the point though they think you’re just playing them
[–]GlitteringPause8 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Uh longer than 2 weeks lol. You don’t even know her.
I think most couples are around 3 months of dating but for me personally I’m gonna need to know someone a lot longer than that.
[–]incognito3107 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
After some time, when you get to the high level of mental and physical intimacy, comfort, mutual experiences, getting to know each other very well. You can simply ask "Are you seeing anyone else?", but it is not that obligatory, actions speak louder than words as it comes to relationships.
[–]Amikatey 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Leading is masculine man, and I doubht if it's something you have to logically discuss with her. Your already sexing so I think you should be boyfreind girlfriend already.
[–]dapanch420 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Be a man, tell her you want her be direct and up front " hey girl i really like you and i wanna make you mine" stop playing this waiting game wondering if she likes you or not, ask her and if she says yes then great, if not then move on.
