If you try complimenting a woman, try it with things about her character like intelligence or if she is funny then compliment on that. In generell girls are not really fond of being only perceived of their appearances.

a guy once told me i was intimidatingly pretty on tinder but then immediately unmatched me and i still think about it sometimes. that was pure self sabotage.
i can’t say it’ll work on everyone but if was about to work on me if he had waited another 3 seconds for me to respond.

It's a different world now, complimenting a woman's looks is practically an insult, they hear it all day everyday and it will make u reek of ulterior motive. Try not to compliment her general appearance at all, compliment specific stuff that is in her control like her wardrobe or hairstyle to show u are paying attention and it makes the compliment unique.

Ultimately the choice of words don't matter, if u are her type she will be flattered, if u ain't her type she will be creeped out.

Instead of saying shes pretty, say “you could go to the met gala with that red dress on” “Look at you strutting along with those long legs. You look like a woman on a mission” “What’s with the orange jacket? You look like an orange”

If you want to compliment her looks, use one of the TDC (tease disqualify and challenge)

Tease: “you really tried to look pretty for me today didn’t you”

Disqualify: “you’ll have to keep wearing that sexy dress every time i see you now, you can’t go back to not wearing it”

Challenge: “why are you looking so pretty today? trying to impress me?”

These are much more effective than compliments. Compliments can dry up a woman real quick because it eeks of desperation when not used correctly (most men don’t use them correctly, but say them just to get in a woman’s pants, which women can sense a mile away)

Although nothing is wrong with calling someone cute or beautiful, I hear that it gets pretty boring and tedious to hear, especially for a girl who maybe constantly hears it. So I wanted to update my vocabulary, and add more words that can invoke some emotions or flattery.

Focusing on conversation skills has more utility than trying to figure out a special word / compliment to give someone.

For a compliment to land, it needs to be more than a one-word adjective. It needs to be something with some insight into who the person is for it to really mean something and be worth saying. Which means you either have to be really observant or know the person well.

All of which means conversation skills generally come first because that's how you start to connect with someone and get to know them.

The best compliments are the ones that show that you truly notice her. For example, if her hair smells nice it means she just washed it. So you compliment her hair. If her nails are freshly painted you compliment her for being so “put together”, even if it means putting other types of girls down. This kind of praise is actually encouragement, and gets past any trace amounts of narcissism and straight to her heart. Good luck.
