Didn't look at your original post OP but I don't see how that was creepy. Helping someone out, striking up a conversation, and then giving them your number for them to text you sounds pretty normal way to meet someone.
[–]Cobbler_Calm 85 points86 points87 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Maybe I take some of these posts a little too literally. Haha.
[–]Clarencekaant 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I've definitely seen stuff even more normal than this being called creepy.
Not that I think it's creepy but reddit is a very sensitive place
[–]wreckyaselfbefore 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Leaving a note on a strangers car is creepy….again “creepy” fluctuates based on the woman’s physical attraction to the guy. If it was a ugly guy that did that he’d be arrested.

Dude that’s like old school game our fathers and grandfathers might even pull. Nothing wrong with that at all.

My son wrote his shy friend's phone number on the receipt in a restaurant. She called him. They were in a relationship for months.

I mean, you had an interaction with the girl beforehand and weren't creepy. Why does this go against this "sub's advice"? Who told you not to act normal in normal situations?
Genuinely not my understanding of all the literature out there, but I've only been reading things here for like 8-9 years and contributing for 7 or so. So perhaps I'm not in the same circles you find yourself in here.

Yea I just thought leaving notes on people’s vehicles wasn’t exactly charming. Maybe under different context it woulda been creepy. Sorry

If anything, it's way creepier when I cold approach women in public and offer them $80 for sex.

big brain
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Not creepy because you had a really decent interaction and conversation beforehand, it’s creepy when it’s a cold approach from a stranger.
[–]Clarencekaant 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Everyone is a stranger before someone approaches
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Approaching in person is very different from a note on a car though, you can see and hear what the suitor is like in person, if I found a note on my car it could be from a revolting looking methhead stalker!
[–]Clarencekaant 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
True. When you said cold approach from a stranger i thought you meant going up and starting a convo
[–]rupeshsh 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Straight out of the movies.. Hot Girl with broken down car, isolated road.
Oh and it's not creepy. even your message is pretty well done.

Nice one bro!
[–]Delicious_Ad_1853 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
This is a perfect example of how taking any shot is better than wimping out completely.
In this case, the huge favor you did for her bought you so much credibility that your passive approach seemed cute instead of pathetic. She could instantly picture how she'd re-tell the origin story if it turns into a relationship. "I was stuck and he saved me and then he left me this adorable note..." Awww, straight out of a sappy movie.
Unless you plan on running around as a superhero all day, though, you'll usually have to build that credibility with smoother moves in more mundane settings.
tl;dr: Congrats! But your overall results will get wayyyy better if you learn how to be more direct.
[–]OrlandoLasso 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
What did she say?
[–]Cobbler_Calm 13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
She texted me a pic of all her doggies. And we chatted for a bit. I left it for now, gonna set up a date and stay off text messages
[–]merchant_of_mirrors 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't stay off texts just mirror her interest. If she texts you a lot text her slightly less. All those coaches that talk about only using text to set dates set those rules back in the 2000s. You're doing well bro don't overthink it
[–]ImJustSo 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To go against the subs advice?
[–]ddrj 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Thank you SO MUCH for going against seddit's advice. Last time you posted, a bunch of people shit talked you. Most people here don't even approach or are women and give you advice on how they would like to be approached. Trust me... only take advice from people who do the actual approaching. You wouldn't ask a beggar for stock advice right? Good shit
[–]RobotGrapes 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Old school game, hell yeah
[–]merchant_of_mirrors 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Congratulations brother, that was perfectly executed. Nothing creepy about it. You established rapport and then left her your number. No pressure and no creepiness. Just be prepared for the shit tests
[–]Winter_Department_87 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I have definitely done this one and it worked, because it puts the ball in their court. So I don’t see it as creepy at all. With the caveat that you leave it alone if they don’t call.
[–]RustyToaster206 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Women love that shit bro. Tiny little things like that is what makes them want you! Obviously if you push way too hard when you shouldn’t be pushing at all, or are persistent when you’re told off, then yeah you gotta stop! But there’s absolutely NOTHING wrong, with shooting your shot with honest-to-god good intent.
[–]Formal-Confidence-91 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You took action. Congratulations. This is all that’s required.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
[–]syzamix -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Read your line again. That's 100% incel mentality.
You're saying that "there is no such thing as creepy. It was created by women who have high opinion of themselves."
How would you feel if a man followed your 10 year old daughter as she walks back from school. Is that creepy? Or is that because of the little girl's high opinion of herself? Do you think this would not be creepy if the guy was good looking?
How about if your sister went to a bar with friends and this guy keeps offering her drinks which might be spiked. Or how about some good looking guy touches your mom on a crowded subway or street where she can't do much.
Forcing your way in when the other person does not like you is creepy. Only incels with limited understanding of women, frame it like "hot people aren't called creepy. And same action by not-so-good-looking people are considered creepy." people who can't handle rejection and want to frame it into victim mentality.
Meanwhile you have no idea what women actually go through. You, sir, need some sensitivity training. Ask around your female friends actually what incidents they call creepy. If you have a shred of empathy, you'll be horrified too.
If you think of women as holes that will open up when you have put in enough seduction points, only then your convoluted thinking makes sense.
Have you been in a long steady relationship lasting years? Have you actually heard from a woman who has been harassed? You say you're not an incel but your thinking betrays you.

I definitely think guys should be taught boundaries and healthy/unhealthy ways to approach someone they like. Similarly, girls should be taught that they should complain if someone does something against their will BECAUSE that would have consequences for the perpetrator. And like anything that can cause harm to people, it should be exercised with caution and judgement. Why do you have to make this a male victim mentality case?
It is sad that a person who has spent enough time with women feels that being creepy is just a matter of hotness. Ask your girlfriend if she agrees with your first COMMENT. Sit down with women, ask them how they have been harassed and you'll quickly understand creepy isn't about hotness.
Also condescending and judgemental of you to assume you know women more than me. Especially given the comment you posted will be downvoted to oblivion in a sub with actual women.

[–]slaphappypap 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not creepy at all.
I’m going back to the drug store next week that I delivered food to on Thursday and am going to ask a gal out to coffee if she is interested. I was too caught up in work mode to seize the moment, but it seemed like she was eyeing me up and being extra nice. She wasn’t the one receiving food btw, I bought a Gatorade while I was there. I thought about her for the rest of the day, super cutie with a great personality.
If she says yes, then sweet. If not I never patronize that store anyways and it won’t make anything awkward.
Ooooo! I LOVE this! You charmer, you!

Sounds like it's straight out of a chick flick. Would watch it. Keep us posted as it's a cute story (and not creepy)
