She probably messaged her fridge friend from bathroom and got some half-baked advice that didn’t help anyone.

Some people in the comments are quick to judge and point fingers, but don’t let that get to you. This isn’t on you. If she chose to step back, let her go. What’s meant for you won’t require you to beg or chase. There are plenty of paths ahead.. no reason to linger where you’re no longer met halfway.

You took a high-energy moment and killed the vibe by pushing too hard. Now with a different girl, the exact same situation could have worked just fine. Some women prefer you to be bold, this particular women felt like you went too fast on the date and it killed the vibe. Maybe she has trauma related to consent. Who knows...

Probably not someone you would be interested in longterm anyways so just consider it incompatibility and move on.

Some girls don't like kissing on the first date, could of done more touching, like on the inside leg. Looks like she is done with you but you could find a different girls who are gagging for it.

Eh probably a bit fast. I wait for the lull and honestly, if you’re doing everything else well it’s never a turn off to ask her “can I give you a kiss?” A kiss is never something to rush. You need to dangle it there for a while, as there are ways to show you’re bold and confident without taking it there

This has happened to me a few times (I’m a woman, btw). The guy swoops in for the kiss at the most inappropriate moment. She wasn’t ready for it and you’ve turned her off of you.

She probably felt obligated to kiss you and then bounced because she was concerned you might hurt her or threaten her if she said no.

When she said what she said to you, it was your chance to say sorry. You didn’t so she left with an excuse (which she probably called her friend about for some advice and a way out).

Next time, read the room. The moment wasn’t right. At all. I could see it from reading your post. You were so gung ho about the kiss you didn’t just enjoy her company.

Here’s a hint: next time, leave it for the end of the date, and ffs ask her if she isn’t almost pressing her face into yours to give you a hint.

Dude the same thing happened to me last week with a hinge date. Date was a wine picnic at the park (2nd date) vibes were great , intimate conversation, she remembered alot of details about me and afterwards it ended in a heated makeout session. I was feeling great afterwards and excited that I found a girl I was genuinely interested in getting to know. I went on so many dates last year and this was the only girl I really felt I could go the distance with. After the kiss she did seem like she was in a hurry to leave and abruptly said she was tired and I offered to drive her home.

Girl texts me a few days later saying she's not ready for a relationship or anything of that sort at the moment. I believe she did feel something for me as well and it maybe scared her a bit. I get it , I didn't have the best model for intimacy growing up too.

My mind did overthink it a bit , thinking I may have said or done something.. but at the end of the day who cares it's out of my control and there's plenty of women who do want me in there life. And I'm sure there's plenty of women who want you in there life OP

You did nothing wrong. She's just a prude who sl*t shamed herself internally and probably has some silly rule about never kissing on the first date.

Most women who aren't down for a kiss give the cheek turn or just say no. So the reaction was definitely a bit odd.

Women have always liked when I cheekily ask if I can steal a kiss from them on a first date. Gives them some power in the moment and doesn’t make them feel as vulnerable

She thought you wanted to sleep with her right away. She wanted to get to know you better first. She was okay with kissing but thought you might try to take it further and she’s not ready yet. That’s my read. Either that or youre a terrible kisser

My guess is that you read the vibe wrong.

When I was dating, one common phenomenon I noticed was that guys thought we had some unique intellectual connection - we didn’t. I’m just cool to talk to. I think it was rare for those guys to meet women they vibed with, while for me, I didn’t have an issue vibing with anyone. Interactions that were small and normal for me, were huge and world shaking for a lot of guys.
